I'm guessing that your vido card is the problem. What settings are you running the game at? That amount of RAM is just enough to run the game half-decent.

i set my setting high at first its was laggy but then i set it low and it was still shatty. I can play like hl2, cs:s, world of warcraft pretty smoothly, i dk why there would be any reason for bf games to lag so much????

What speed P4 processor? I'll assume you mean 512 MB RAM since they don't make 510. That really is the bare minimum for the RAM requirements. Try running the game on all LOW settings, turn off shadows/lightmaps, and turn off all in-game music options. Trust me - I'm just as annoyed as you are. I can run UT2K4 at 1280x1024 with all gfx settings jacked up as high as they all go and suffer NO stutter. Absolutely no lag whatsoever... yet I have to run BFV at 1024 x 768 and some gfx settings on low, some medium, shadows/lightmaps off and in-game music off... and I still get the occasional chug, especially when more than half the players are in one location.

I think it's your videocard though. It's very old atm.

That is because your videocard doesn't support directX 9. These games needs that (not sure about WoW though). So basicly what your videocard is doing is not using the gfx engine of those games (which uses DX9) how it is suppose to be used. I don't know how to explain it but... It will do. - The best thing you can do is just get another vid. card (and one that supports DX9). If you got the money for it. And use this little tweak (might help a lot): http://www.tweakguides.com/BFV_1.html
