Ok first hi to everyone: so erm.. HI! Oyeah system specs no let me start with the story first (got to keep t interesting) ok played bf:v fine for 2 months then uninstalled it because wanted my comp yto go faster (jeey dident work how come:rolleyes:). so comp still not goeing faster i decided to upgrade the silly thing, now i got asus a7n8x-x motherboard amd athlon xp 3200+ cpu geforce 2 (still with the old thingy) 1024 mb i kinda ran out of funding before i could buy a new 3d card :uhm: so! the problem or else i wouldent be posting here would i, well maybe to spam but well ermmm nevermind  so sorry getting distracted. when i start to install ig get this problem

CRC Error the data is corrupt (long file name)

i can choose cancel, try again and ignore after pressing try again a couply of times i press ignore and instalation contineus moment later i get almost same error but with another file name this goes on for like 6 errors sometimes more sometimes less, so instalation "finished" i start up the game after loading like 5-10 percent it crashes to desktop no error given.

so your probably thinking, install in the other cd drive.. tried it or patch the game... tried it your even thinking trow your comp out of the window...ARE YOU AN IDIOT NO WAY IN HELL M8:moon: (god do i love these smileys) so if you could plz try to help me i would be gratufull:bows:

Uninstall the game, remove the registry files the game leves behind. Go back to where the game was installed and make shure there are no files there left by the game if there are delete them. Reboot your computer and then try to install the game. Also make shure the game disk is not dirty or scratched. If this disk is dirty clean it if it's scratched fix it with a Disk Doctor scratch remover.

A CRC error can occur because of many things. Namely what I have already listed. I would start by replacing each of those parts until the error no longer exists. Start with the cheapest.

I most often get CRC errors when I burn a disk using inferior media like a cheap old DVD-R or something.

So assuming that you didnt burn the game yourself which is the only conclusion I can come to because you would have notcied this problem a long time ago other wise you have a low of work to do and no simple solution.

I doubt he will be able to replace every part on that list just to see if it works. Although if he realy is going to go through that list I would say don't even bother with checking the ide cables. I mean when was the last time you herd of an IDE cable being bad.

I have had that happen and it just happens to be the easiest, least expensive and leat time consuming of the group.
