Hey guys, Got an issue with Battlefield Vietnam. I had a little problem with it so I uninstalled it, or tried to that didn't work so I kind of gave up. I went away to find my roommate had deleted all the BFV files in an attempt to get it off the computer but now I have an even bigger issue. The presence of BFV is visibly gone off of my computer, I can't run it or anything - can't even run the uninstall, yet when I try to install it via the menu it brings up on autoplay it does not give me the option of install... only uninstall. So now I can't play it, but can't reinstall it either. Any suggestions for help? I need it, it was a good game for the little bit I played of it before it went nuts.

Have you tried getting it out of the Registry? When I wanted to reinstall it, I ran regedit and got rid of everything that was shown as bfvietnam. I did a search for 'Vietnam' and deleted everything that looked like it was for the game.

you also might try going to add/remove programs in your control panel and see if BFV is stil in there. if so, try deleting it from there.

Next time you try to uninstall , go to ADD/REMOVE , click REMOVE and then just take those check marks out for each module you want to uninstall ....

I have this problem, a very acute case of it. I installed this game, was having problems so I uninstalled it. I think I didn't use an uninstaller but just deleted the folder. So then tried to install and of course it says my game is already installed.

So, I knew enough to delete my registries involving the game so to try to fix this. I made the mistake of deleting my EA games directory instead of BFV and also screwed over my bf 1942. It took me a week to fix bf 1942 because I missed a place in my documents where I think the bf 1942 saved games are. Once that was fixed I tried to find an extra folder for my BFV that I had missed but with no such luck. I must have tried to install the game and delete registries 20 times and I've run searchs in the editor and on my computer looking for anything with the name bfv and vietnam along with others. I can live for now with just bf 1942 but I'm afraid I might be a harm to myself or others if I can't play BFV again:D Any help or ideas would be appreciated, If someone could tell me everywhere the game installs that may be enough to fix this. I really look forward to napalming the commies again.

hmmm. if there are no files or folders, hidden or un-hidden, on your C: drive, and no BFV folders in the reg, I would try a system restore to before your problems started.
