Whenever I try to connect to a server in multiplayer (internet), a BFV-splashscreen (the same as the one when you start up your game) shows up. After that, everything just freezes, can't do a thing except from exiting the BFVietnam.exe-process by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE. The game works fine in singleplayer.
I use WinXP Home, ATI Radeon 9700 PRO (newest drivers installed), 2,8 Ghz and 512 DDR-SDRAM (if that's any help). I've also updated the game to the newest version. I'll so if I can include a screenshot later.
I think it is your anti-Virus acting up. Every time I up date my Vietnam or 1942.....instead of poping up like it is supposed to....my firewall blocks the program because it has changed since it last gained access.
Go into your McAfee or Norton and click on the game and allow access. It should do the trick. My computer usually freezes up one or two times before it works properly.
hope this solves it
Sounds good, but I'm not using McAfee or Norton, I use AVG Free Edition. Anyone knows how to allow access in it?
AVG is an anti virus program, it does not have a firewall feature. Do you have form of firewall like Zone alarm? Do you connect via modem or do you have a router?
Can you play any other online games?
Nope, I don't have any firewall. I connect directly through modem. And yes, I can play other online games (Call Of Duty, CS: S, HL2: DM etc.)
I "kinda" fixed the problem sometime ago, I can now enter servers and such, but whenever the server changes map it happens again.
What did you do to "kinda" fix the problem before?
Does it happen on all servers or a server running a particular mod?
Open the task manager and see how many processes you have running. I used to get problems with BFV locking up on a pc with higher spec than yours. I found out I had 62 processes running in the background. I had a clean up and got that down to about 40, it made a big diff. If that doesnt work then I'm stuck, maybe try reinstalling again.
