Hi. I am new to BFV and I need some help badly. First off, in the single player mode, it runs ok, but on all three settings, high, medium, and low, it plays choppy. Almost like it is lagging a little. I have higher than the recommended specs for running the game. I have higher than the optimum specs for running the game. Mine are, P4 3.0 ghz processor, Gigabyte Motherboard, GEforce 5200 fx 128mb card, 512 ddrm, and 52x cd drive, and a 30gig hard drive. I dont see why I have any problems running this game at a normal, smooth speed...not a skipping one. I have the correct direct x version off the cd. Another problem i have is that I cannot play it online. When i try to join a game, it says i have the wrong version. But when i downloaded a patch from the eagames website, it made the game no longer work. It would just act like it was going in, but then it would just take me back to windows, no error or nothing. What patch and/or sever upgrades would i need to have this thing working online? What is wrong with my pc that makes it run so laggy? I have money to get something, i just dont know what. If anyone could help me, I'd be very happy. From what i have played in this game so far, with the skipping and all, I have loved every second of it. I just wish i can get to the real fun and play it online. Please, Any suggestions?

Your video card is the biggest bottleneck to your system, I'd recommend getting a new one. Maybe a 9600xt or so. Another 512 ram also would make a big difference.

As for the latest patch which should allow you to play on-line, try HERE.

Try using All Seeing Eye . It's a server finding tool that is a lot better than the in game browser.

Are you running anti-ailiasing at all? If you are try turning it down or turn it off completely. That card should run fine in just SP mode.

Thanks for the help guys. I found the problem. I was running a cracked/no cd version from one of my friends but he didnt tell me about that. But, the good thing is I liked the game so much that I went out and bought it legitly, and it works fine. Everything runs smooth in single player on the highest settings and the patch downloaded from EAgames works great. I still need to try out the online play tonight when i get off work but I'm sure it will work fine. Thanks again for the help though. I'll never take another cracked game...I swear :)
