Hey guys, I just recently registered for the forums and was wondering if anyone here could help me with some problems I am having. I've tried everything I could think of, so I was hoping someone else had any ideas:confused: . I recently reinstalled Battlefield Vietnam and when I load the game up and I get to the menu screen and click update for the server list my mouse lags around the screen and it shows my ping anywhere from 500-1500. I have a cable modem, and any other game I play I ping around 30-50 so I know it isn’t my connection, I have all of the minimum requirements. I had BFV installed a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t have any problems with it (I can’t remember why I uninstalled it). I made sure when I uninstalled it that I deleted all of the files. Anyway; I have tried reinstalling the game, I’ve tried installing the game then installing the 1.2 patch and then installing punkbuster and it still has the lag. I have changed the allowrefreshrate to 1 and the soundbuffersize to 400-1000, that didn’t work either. Any suggestions? Also I am the administrator for my computer, so thats not the problem either. I want to play :( . Computer specs Pentium IV 2.0 Ghz Windows XP service pack 2 1.0GB RAM Radeon 9600 SE SB Audigy 2 ZS All of my drivers are up to date. Like I said before the game ran fine two weeks ago and I didn't have any problems with it. I didn't have any problems until after I reinstalled it this last weekend. If you need any more information let me know.

Hello, does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have been over the entire forums looking for an answer to my problem and so far I have not seen anything. Or is there another forums out there that might some clue as how to fix it. I am open to any ideas, if you have any other websites that I can visit let me know. Thanks for your time, and please reply ASAP. I miss playing my BFV.

Windows XP service pack 2 is evil to begin with. So you are saying your in-game server browser freezes up and won't display any servers? Or you are lagging once you get in the game also? If it's just a browser issue, try installing The All Seeing Eye to find internet games and see if that works. ASE is MUCH better than the in-game one anyway. Not sure yet why your in-game browser is freezing yet...

Yeah, i thought it might be the service pack 2 myself so I uninstalled it to see if that was the problem but for some reason it still doesn't work. What I was trying to say in my first post was that after updating to the 1.2 full patch and I go into the menu screen and press update for the server list my mouse lags around the screen and it shows me pinging all of the servers around 500-1500. I have a cable modem, and I ping pretty good on other games. I am starting to think it is the 1.2 patch itself. I didn't have any problems with the game until after putting the 1.2 patch on. I even tried downloading the patch from different websites to see if I had just gotten a bad download but it still does it. I am out of ideas. By the way I have tried the ASE as well but it still pings high, the other games in my ASE ping real good so that leads me to believe that something in the 1.2 patch is having some sort of conflict with my pc. Does anybody know whether or not a 1.3 patch will be coming out sometime in the near future. I may have to wait until one does come out, but I am going to miss playing bfv, although I do play UT2004, Day of Defeat and Call of Duty so that will keep me busy in the meantime. Thanks for the reply. If anyone does have any info on this problem let me know, I still won't give up on bfv.

Cya later.

I would like to tell everyone thanks for there help and I wanted to let everyone know that I fixed my problem. I only tried two things, the first was downloading the patch from another server and I found out I needed to defrag my hard drive. I cant believe that I didn't think about doing that before but all well. Now I get to fly my apache again. Hey, what is some of your screen names and some of the servers you guys play on, maybe I will see you then. Mine is |>LN<|_Lt.Dan. Thanks again, Dan

Sometimes it's the simple things that end up being the solution. It's very annoying all around when the answer lies in something so... routine. Glad to hear it's fixed though. Hope to see you out there Lt. Dan!

Oh and I was about to send out a search party for ya BeeF! Long time has passed since I last saw your name across my screen... Welcome back!
