Hi there I was thinking or upgrading my Graphics card some time soon and was wondering If i need to upgrade my PSU for the new Gfx card my current PSU is a 350 W so i need to know if this will handle the new card. Thx in advance.:cya:
What else do you have running off from your power supply, and also, what kind of vid card are you looking at? system specs?
k here r my sys specs
P4 2.4 ghz 512mb ram radeon 8500 128 mb Creative audigy 2 Gigabiyte GA-8GE800 mobo
the vid card iam thinking of buying is a Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro Lite-retail.
I would reccomend at least a 400+ watt PSU. This is the one I have in one of my machines. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-103-908&depa=1
I suggest nothing but an Antec.

ThermalTake is also very good, along with Enermax. But Newegg is probably one of the best places to order from. Make sure you get a good brand, a 360W TT/Antec/Enermax is much better than a 500watt no name. I have a ThermalTake Pure power 360W, which is fine for my setup EPOX 8RDA3+ XP1700 @1833 Geforce FX5700Ultra 500/1000 SBLive Gamer 5.1 CDRW 40GB Maxtor 120GB WD 6 Case fans + 2 CPU fans External Blue Leds
Thx for the advice guys.
Just a side note. My friend was customizing his new computer and wanted to get the new NVidia card. Well, when he did that, the website informed him he had to purchase a 600+W power supply to run it! So, he'd have to buy the card for $520, and the power supply for another $250 for the power supply! :dropsjaw: scheisse! Couldn't believe. He opted for the Radeon X800 instead.
Y'know, several people actually survived the taran attack! Amazing!
