Hi everyone its nice to see the 1.01 patch out now but i am still haveing problems with the Eax sound option lagging bad when i turn it on any of the available ones listed creative Eax, Eax2 and Eax3.I doesn't matter i still get bad frame rate/lag in the games online.now i have the following computer:
windows XP home 2002 SP1 (new install) All up to date as you can get. 5 items running in start up menu regularly defraged / optimized well
western digital 80 gig hard drive with 8 meg buffer.
X48 liteon cd-rom
Pentium4 2.8 533 front side bus processor Intel850emv2 mother board; newest bios and chipsets drivers available. this is my bios=MV85010A.86A.0069.P25 this is my chipset driver=version 5.1.1.1002
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 meg video card running catalyst 4.5 drivers
Directx version 9.0b
Comcast cable modem
Sound Blaster Audigy gamer sound card running the Audigy Driver – AUD_EAX4DRV_031031 and the EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Patch Update for Sound Blaster Audigy with this showing in my directx diagnostic tool menu as my driver version-5.12.0001.0443
and i still lag bad and get poor fps when i try and turn Eax on. can anybody help?
Go into your bios and turn off your onboard sound for first.
Also, there is a certain facade when people think that there is going to be great fps jump from onboard to pci card. Sure you'll see a small jump but it won't help a lot. So don't expect miracles.
However, that being said. Onboard and EAX don't really get a long. Speaking from experience just turn that onboard sound off and you should get a little better fps.
My onboard sound has been off sence day 1 of installation. and my onboard ether net card to was turned off from the begining. :naughty:
Well I got a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and my EAX works fine :D
It only lags bad and gives me bad frame rate when playing BFVietnam no other game has ever done this and i play games like-
UT 2003 UT 2004 Raven shield Never winter nights Sacred Call of duty Medal of honor Max payne 2 And even BF1942 played ok
And in UT2004 you have to have the most up to date drivers to enable Eax sound or it will crash, and UT2004 plays fine with Eax on for me so i dont get it.and im useing my driver not the defalt one for sound that they have in the options.
The EAX fix should be in upcoming patches, I believe. Just leave it off for now.
Agreed... if EAX is giving you problems (even with the most updated sound drivers), then turn it off.
Cool, thanks guys
