What's the point of using a a cloaking device? Everytime you decloak the othe guy gets a few good hits on you, with your shields down. And if you move out of firing range then there is no point because you will not be surprising them they'll see you coming and be ready by the time you get there.
So again what's the point?
Am I using them wrong? If so please tell me how they can be made useful
not when you decoak right under them and they have no arcs there... i have had many times that i was in a BoP vs a sov and one because of my cloak.
also it gives you time to repair systems
Would there be anyway to edit the amount of lagtime between shields dropping/full cloak and vice versa or would that require editing dlls?
Yes that would be also helpful, because even though one can cloak when in trouble but again it give the enemy time to use beam weapons on you without shields
I find it a little annoying that every time you uncloak, the AI opponent fires IMMEDIATLY, like he knows where you are at all times, even when you've just warped into the system cloaked. They're waiting for you. I hope some modder can sort it.
Anyone with quick reflexes could do the same, if you decloak in a fire arc.
I often drop my target to get a decloaking ship, if I'm playing Federation.
If your BOP decloaks ready to fire at a Kessok ventral shield, you can seriously ruin their day.
