It's Mtheumer again! I won't be as long-winded as usual(I hope). I just wanted to know if anyone has come up with the idea to consolidate TOS, TMP, and TNG into separate "Total Conversion" packages? Each package having all that eras' ships, bridges, uniforms, and star systems. With all the great mods, it seem a natural progression.

An interesting idea. Would you have ships from the series only there or not? Who would decide what is the best in a number of ships and how would they be balanced?

Not an argument against your idea, which I support, just some small issues to consider when creating these modpacks.

here's another thought on that, if you could have all the "total conversion" packs compatible with each other, and have each come with it's own mutator so you could switch between era's without having to unistall then install a differnt pack. youre ideas pretty good though.

Why not just one, large, rolling Expansion. Of course..each one has their own twists

For instance:

Original Era: (assorted missions)(Original Constitution)

Mission 1: Testing of the new "Constitution Class Vessel" Mission 2: Encounter with the Mysterious "Breen" Mission 3: Rescue the Enterprise from (forget the planet, "The Cage") Mission 4: Klingon Insurgence (around the timeframe of Where No Man has Gone Before) Mission 5: Trial runs on the new "M4" Computer. Mission 6: Supporting Enterprise in patroling the Romulan border( Balance of Terror) Mission 7: Counter Offensive against the Gorn Mission 8: Transporting Experimental Romulan Cloaking device back to Earth from Enterprise Mission 9: Reporting back to Star Base for experimental system tests Mission 10: Reporting to Earth for Refit (1.5 months post The Motion Picture)

Movie Era: (Romulan and Klingon missions)(Constitution Class)

Mission 11: Shakedown cruise Mission 12: Mission to the Romulan Border (Romulan attack) Mission 13: continuation of the Romulan mission of 12 (Federation Counter offensive) Mission 14: Strike on a romulan outpost Mission 15: End of Romulan missions Mission 16: Diplomatic missions to the Klingon Empire Mission 17: The missions fail Mission 18: destroy experimental Klingon ship Mission 19: Flee Klingon space alone Mission 20: Protect USS Excelsior NX-2000 from Klingon attack on shakedown cruise TNG Era: (Tholian and Breen missions)(Ambassador Class) Mission 21: Shakedown Cruise of the new Ambassador Class Cruiser Mission 22: First encounter with the Breen Mission 23: Breen attackes on Federation outposts Mission 24: Breen forces strike at Vulcan Mission 25: Using a captured Breen ship, you infiltrate Breen space (unhelmetted Breen!) Mission 26: Breen missions end Mission 27: Come to the aid of Enterprise C at Nerendra III, but is stopped by attacks by Tholians Mission 28: Search for survivors of Enterprise C MIssion 29: Counter strike at Romulans for destruction of Enterprise C. Mission 30: Report to Starbase for reassignment (opening way for new expansion /mission pack)

Just some ideas :nodding:

I have to agree, these are some great ideas and not really that difficult for an expert modder, which sadly I am not. To answer Milleau, I would suggest using the Starfleet Museum as a guide for the TOS era, with natural progress of refits and advancements that we know of for the other eras.
