--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all let me say that BC is the best StarTrek game ever. That being said, allow me to expound on my "Dream BC Game". The game begins with a mission brief of your current assignment. Once you accept the assignment, you as a highly decorated officer can choose your ship. Your choice of ships depends on which ones are avaiable at that particular starbase. Once a ship is chosen, you can hand pic your bridge crew, again based in availability at that starbase(usually a wider variety as you get closer to Starfleet headquarters). Missions vary from border defence to (option-based) peace negotiations between races, to all out war. Depending on the mission, you can either command a single ship or get a temporary field promotion to admiral an command a fleet of ships. In combat, I would like to have the ability to beam over Marines to take over a vessel(already available I hear), send swarms of fighters(if available for that ship) and demand a surrender(getting it would depend on the race of the enemy and progress made by Marines) It would be great to see the bridge crew replaced by the enemy one by one until the player issues a surrender (watch the brigde be assimilated by the Borg). If a ship is damage and can't go to warp, it should be ablöe to send a distress call to the nearest vessel for a tow or the nearest starbase for retrieval by a tender ship. I like the core eject scripts, but would like to see them based on ship design, ie. some ship have two tandem cores and some have alternate cores, I think power levels should reflect that. If in a situation that calls for a self destruct, there should be the option of explosive charge detonation or a more massive M/A detonation. In battles when friendly ships are damaged and have abandoned ship, the player should have the ability to recover the pods, adding to his crew compliment. Navagation should have several new features, such as a viewable astrogator to give a more visual feel of where you are going, as well silent-running and parallel course settings. Orbits should include geostationary, polar, and upper atmospheric. Nav should have a distress call button as well. I like sending the Engineer to Engineering, but I would like to see a display of more critical systems such as IDF, SIF, and Environmental (the last effecting crew repair performance). I would also like to see power allocation options(hope to see that one soon). At the scanners, my dream game would allow me to scan for life forms on planetary surfaces or on ships, probes extending sensor range, and the ability to scan for warp trails. I would also like the ability to be notified if a ship is arming weapons, or on a build-up to self destruct. When scanning a planet, I would like to know it's type, number of life-forms(as stated) and level of technological advancement based in the Richter scale. When scanning a star, I would like it's type as well. When scanning a ship, I would like it's warp capability, crew compliment, and armament. At my side, I want my XO to give me credible options in battle situations(based on the type of XO I select). I want him or her to have the Marine assault button, launch shuttles or fighters button, and the abandon ship/ self destruct buttons. Depending on the length of a particular mission, I want automatic crew rotations with the player having the option to keep crew member on shift longer(slowly degrading that crew members performance ie. respose to commands come slower as time progresses). Lastly, I would like targetable planetary locations indicated by a graphic circle on the view screen. An enhancement for that would be to see the lights of cities as a planet passes rotates into night and planetary defenses(ie. city shields, orbital phaser and torpedo platforms. Once a mission is completed, the player is given orders to report to a different starbase for new orders and the options to recrew, refit and or get a new ship. I know this is a lot, but a guy can dream.

I have a similar dream, I suggested taking the movements of star trek: generations game, added to elite forces force movements, sfc3's fleet movements, generations astrometrics type navigation (you could go to any system as any time, and it used long range scanners) and BC as the base game.

I would also suggest as you take damage, you lose shipmates affecting how well the ship moves etc...

Thank you gentlemen. I wanted a game soo great that I would risk loosing my job, my family, and all my friends 'cause I would be a shut-in playing it 24/7. Basicly a BC "crackhead"!
