There are a few things about this game that make me vomit.

Why are the galaxy bridge stations so incredibly wrong?? Why is the ops and engineering section up there where Worf always stands?? Tactical is supposed to be up top, and I thought they were in charge of hailing and communications, etc... Engineering had its little section in the back, ops was where Data always sat in TNG, on the left side when facing the view screen, and helm controls were always on the right.

Why do they insist of saying Guh-laur when referring to a Cardassian Galor?? its Gal-er...gal, like old slang for a woman, and er...Galor....everytime they say Guh-Laur, it sounds like a ship thats gigantic and enormous...."A Guh-Laur heading this way!!! It's huge!!!

What the hell is a main battery? Is there like a big duracell somewhere on the ship?? All I remember are fusion generators, the warp core for main power I think, and auxillary power.

Since when does scanning with sensors make the tri-corder sound?

Why is the sensor guy in the back in a DS9 uniform? He looks like Bashir for crying out loud...in TNG, the only person with a blue uniform was Troi i thought. And maybe severe underlings.

Is it just me, or does the tactical officer look like The Rock?

It'd be nice if the deflectors could do something...they made them look good with nice detail, but all they do is sit there.

Is it just me or our quantum torpedos heavily under-powered? I thought quantums could take out Borg Cubes and Spheres like in First Contact...I gotta fire all four just to make a shield go yellow.

Why does the soverign have such terrible armor? Isn't it supposed to be ablative? I would think the most advanced ship in the fleet would be a little better protected than a Galaxy.

Last time I read the actual specs for Star Trek ships, an Akira is supposed to have 8 forward torpedo tubes.

A Galaxy-class starship is said to be able to fire 6 photon torpedos every ten seconds...which sounds about right, because whenever in TNG they needed to blow up an asteroid or something, they would fire them in triplet pairs. Janeway shot torpedos like no tomorrow. I can bake a cake in the time it takes for me to get my torpedoes readied again.

Why can't I strafe? They don't make any games anymore where you can't strafe...I don't care what game you're playing. Strafing would be such a great feature...going one way while firing your opposite phasers....that would be super-cool.

Having said all that, I still love this damn game...list anymore if you have em.

I just feel like answering your post. Some of them are quite obvious...

Because they insist on speed. You wouldn't want to turn your head 180 degrees (Because your mousepad isn't that long) to tell what's his name to fire Phasers. Besides, if tactical was there, then you'd have to take your eyes off the viewscreen.

I thought it was Gay-lore when I got the game, but get, guh-lore isn't that bad, ;)

What the hell is a main battery? Is there like a big duracell somewhere on the ship?? All I remember are fusion generators, the warp core for main power I think, and auxillary power.

The Main Battery is equivalent to the "Backup" systems on starships. Or Secondary Systems.

Since when does scanning with sensors make the tri-corder sound?

You're right about that, it's annoying, lol

Why is the sensor guy in the back in a DS9 uniform? He looks like Bashir for crying out loud...in TNG, the only person with a blue uniform was Troi i thought. And maybe severe underlings.

This doesn't take place at the same time as TNG. It's when everyone has DS9 Uniforms, lol

Is it just me, or does the tactical officer look like The Rock?

Now that you mention it, yes! lol He also looks like some guy in my History Class.

If they were that powerful, then they'd make Akiras and Soverign classes too strong. If you notice in multiplayer, they're already too damn strong, ;)

Why does the soverign have such terrible armor? Isn't it supposed to be ablative? I would think the most advanced ship in the fleet would be a little better protected than a Galaxy.

Same answer as above. Too damn strong.

Last time I read the actual specs for Star Trek ships, an Akira is supposed to have 8 forward torpedo tubes.

... Same as above, too damn strong, imagine it. 8 Quantum Torpedoes, and 2 at the sides. That's too many... If you were fighting a Soverign, it could kill it without phasers, for crying out loud.

Meh, it's like this is every other game, lol.

Why can't I strafe? They don't make any games anymore where you can't strafe...I don't care what game you're playing. Strafing would be such a great feature...going one way while firing your opposite phasers....that would be super-cool.

I, myself, don't find the need to strafe. That is all, :)

Hi!

Kareeser might defend a few things in this game but i don't. The quantom torpedo could be powerful enough but not TO powerful.

On the bridge it's better to be realistic about the stations.

And the Galaxys Phasers. Isn't there supposed to be a phaser strip under the deflector dich and below the warp nacelles? That can be done, I've found a mod that fix that.( I think, havn't tryed yet)

I don't mind not being able to strafe but I would like to se the ships turn like an airplane as they do on the show.

I've been annoied with those things for a long time. Someone should fix those things

Yeah, I think Kareeser is right on a few things, I guess I just got caught up in the moment while typing a few comments, but there are still a few things I don't agree with...

You don't have to use your mousepad to turn around 180 degrees....I think most people use the F1-F5 buttons to talk to the crewmates and not the mouse...its a hell of a lot faster, and there's nothing keeping the game from just going back to the viewscreen after telling the tactical officer what to do...

I'm not sure about the galaxy, but I always thought the soverign have an underbelly phaser, seen here from Star Trek Sound and Vision http://www.stinsv.com/MOv/640ship/9entfire.jpg This is a shot from Insurrection

But I guess 8 phasers is enough...

If all that other power is secondary systems and backup power and whatnot, they should call it that....main battery just sounds so trite...

I guess it would be too powerful if we had so many quantum torpedo launchers, and if they were more powerful...but i thought the whole reason they invented the quantum was that they couldnt get any more power out of photons....in this game, i think the adv. photon is more powerful than a quantum...then again, you do get 4 quantums and at max, 2 adv. photons at a time.

Everything else I complained about was really just trivial...dont get me wrong though, if this game were a person, id have sex with it....i really do enjoy this game...

Lol, you never know, maybe the Enterprise was being shot AT, hehe...

I also noticed that in Voyager, they paid special attention to shields, so whenever Voyager battled, you could ALWAYS see the shields, but in DS9, they scrapped the whole thing. It's like they were fighting with no shields on, :P

i think i'd be nice to have realistic ships. good lip syncing. maybe the ability to change what warp speed u go at, and even engage it during battles and stuff where you would warp to other star systems...the once u choose. And being able to sit at stations and control them. like you where there

A full volley of Quantum Torpedoes can tear an unshielded Keldon to shreds. It's advisable to aim at the dorsal or ventral shields because they're the biggest and provide you with the largest target surface area for when you belt off your quantums.

I personally want to SHOOT whoever thought the Akira should have an ungodly number of torpedo tubes. It's just plain munchy.

The Akira Class Battlecruiser was actually made to combat the Borg, so they HAD to have tons of torpedo tubes, or else it'd just be another ship tp be slaughtered by the Borg.

Akira does much better against a sphere than a Galaxy or Soverign, ;)

(that is, Rick Knox's, not the stock one, :P)

It's not just the torpedoes that irk me, it's the fact that it has that AND is a fighter carrier AND is older than the Galaxy class, which was supposed to be the most advanced and powerful starship of its time.

I'm not sure if you guys ever noticed, but no one blinks!!!! Every character that talks to you just stares at you and it gets freaky after a while, especially if they talk to you for a long time.
