I'd like to see more problem solving/diplomatic missions and scenarios. Combat gets boring to me after a while. I'd also like to see a strong storyline: Sure, you can have the borg, and teh dominion, and species 1234 or whatever they are, the kazon, the breen... but how are you going to put all of that together into a cohesive, original plot?
"ohz noz, teh b0rg are attacking l3ts ally w/ every1!"
I dont think so.
I'd actually like to see the federation take a nasty turn, and have individual captains taking sides (including us against, as the federation doing bad things wouldn't bode well). A civil war of sorts. of course, then you'd have to fight the klingons (becasue they're the FEDERATION's allies), but you'd have the romulans on your side (cuz theyd love nothing more than to see the federation go down...) of course, you'd have to stop them from doing too much damage, too. That would open up a lot of possibilities, such as trying to gain allies and convice enemies to join you in fighting the corrupted federation (and nothing silly involved like mind-controlling bugs). Maybe the federation could purposly be using Omega particles (or whatever those thigns from that one episode of Voyager were?) or something equally devestating. "Doesn't fit the federation's MO", you say? Well, attacking foriegn countries for no reason isn't the US's MO, and yet, here were are, having invaded 2 middle-eastern countries in 2 years.
I dunno, im just ramblin, hehe =P
First of all let me say that BC is the best StarTrek game ever. That being said, alow me to expound on me "Dream BC Game". The game begins with a mission brief of your current assignment. Once you accept the assignment, you as a highly decorated officer can choose your ship. Your choice of ships depends on which ones are avaiable at that particular starbase. Once a ship is chosen, you can hand pic your bridge crew, again based in availability at that starbase(usually a wider variety as you get closer to Starfleet headquarters). Missions vary from border defence to (option-based) peace negotiations between races, to all out war. Depending on the mission, you can either command a single ship or get a temporary field promotion to admiral an command a fleet of ships. In combat, I would like to have the ability to beam over Marines to take over a vessel(already available I hear), send swarms of fighters(if available for that ship) and demand a surrender(getting it would depend on the race of the enemy and progress made by Marines) It would be great to see the bridge crew replaced by the enemy one by one until the player issues a surrender (watch the brigde be assimilated by the Borg). If a ship is damage and can't go to warp, it should be ablöe to send a distress call to the nearest vessel for a tow or the nearest starbase for retrieval by a tender ship. I like the core eject scripts, but would like to see them based on ship design, ie. some ship have two tandem cores and some have alternate cores, I think power levels should reflect that. If in a situation that calls for a self destruct, there should be the option of explosive charge detonation or a more massive M/A detonation. In battles when friendly ships are damaged and have abandoned ship, the player should have the ability to recover the pods, adding to his crew compliment. Navagation should have several new features, such as a viewable astrogator to give a more visual feel of where you are going, as well silent-running and parallel course settings. Orbits should include geostationary, polar, and upper atmospheric. Nav should have a distress call button as well. I like sending the Engineer to Engineering, but I would like to see a display of more critical systems such as IDF, SIF, and Environmental (the last effecting crew repair performance). I would also like to see power allocation options(hope to see that one soon). At the scanners, my dream game would allow me to scan for life forms on planetary surfaces or on ships, probes extending sensor range, and the ability to scan for warp trails. I would also like the ability to be notified if a ship is arming weapons, or on a build-up to self destruct. When scanning a planet, I would like to know it's type, number of life-forms(as stated) and level of technological advancement based in the Richter scale. When scanning a star, I would like it's type as well. When scanning a ship, I would like it's warp capability, crew compliment, and armament. At my side, I want my XO to give me credible options in battle situations(based on the type of XO I select). I want him or her to have the Marine assault button, launch shuttles or fighters button, and the abandon ship/ self destruct buttons. Depending on the length of a particular mission, I want automatic crew rotations with the player having the option to keep crew member on shift longer(slowly degrading that crew members performance ie. respose to commands come slower as time progresses). Lastly, I would like targetable planetary locations indicated by a graphic circle on the view screen. An enhancement for that would be to see the lights of cities as a planet passes rotates into night and planetary defenses(ie. city shields, orbital phaser and torpedo platforms. Once a mission is completed, the player is given orders to report to a different starbase for new orders and the options to recrew, refit and or get a new ship. I know this is a lot, but a guy can dream.
I would like to SEE BC2. That is my wish.
All good ideas but..............
I wanna lead a fleet of 600 fed ships against a 1200 fleet of cardassians and dominon. I want DS9/first contact size battles :D
will that include a super computer with about 600 isoliner chips and a FTL feilds just to play that? unless you make the models really suck then you could. cuz a computer couldn't handle that many ships with fuzzy AI. unless it was totaly scripted postion by postion that would cut processing needs but would take a really heavy toll on the video card. probly a minimum of 516mb if you run the thing on minimal specs.

Dude he never typed it had to be practical :naughty:
haha i know. i must say it would be cool if it was possbible. perhaps set on a much smaller scale, say 20 cardy dominion ships with 10 fed klingon romulan ships. perhaps that way.

Yes maybe for us pour souls, who don't have the enterprise E computer in our basements... :uhoh:
A "Sacrifice of Angels" style battle would be good :)
