They "give them a good kicking" because of Hitler's command that made the DAK hold the position with no reinenforcements or supplies.Remember that Rommel was pretty sick during the battel at el alamein and was hospitalized until after they lost so he couldnt command the DAK.also U forgot the american efforts in afrika which also helped overwhlem and already weakened german army.If Rommel had his way the DAK would not have been driven out of afrika till a lot later in the war.Oh and ur right not all british people r pompous pos with mustashes that fought on every front of the war and never seem to die. they should have made an american sherman tank level and an american afrika campaign -it would have proved interresting
random thing that bothers me about cod2; 1.just have to keep stressing this JU87 dive bomber(all bombers r slow because of armor and bombs, ect) dog fighting a late war spitefire fighter???!(this happens in most ww2 games for some reason an allied late war gun ,tank, or fighter is put up against an early war german gun ,tank, or bomber)
this is getting a bit off-topic now. This is not a WWII history thread, its about a COD2 expansion. Please try not to go too deep into the whys and wherefores of the war.
E3 GAMESPY section reports screenies of new maps for PC. AND Xbox360. WHo knows what this might lead to..links coming.
crikey, i just post about things going off-opic, and the first post made after that is off-topic - this is a thread about COD2 expansion, not COD3
Are you sure there will be a Call of Duty 2 expansion? They have already released COD3 trailers. There will probably only be mods and maps not an official expansion.
it is highly unlikely that there will be a COD2 expansion, but that has never stopped people speculating about "what if there was an expansion?"
This thread is a bit of harmless fun discussing things people would like to see in the COD series. More of a 'wish list' than anything else.
The most anoying thing for me in COD2 SP was not being able to save the game when YOU want. This so needs to be changed.
I think maybe the battle of the bulge would be nice. I dont really care about the levels but the game should be more in depth. You should have to not have levels but parts. Battle of the Bulge for example: You would have to sit in a fox hole and wacth the line trying not to freeze, or being a medic running around, or being a guy trying to keep warm in a foxhole while trying to eat some grub. I think the more in depth the more funner or sadder it will be based on your friends deaths. Not to always have an objective would be nice, like justing sleeping in your hole and waking up to a shelling. This is just me though I think that would be more realistic and overall funner. Ya waiting to finish sleeping might be boring, but eating and talking to your friends would be a good bonding moment.Having to get up at 3 in the morning and having to partol around and run into an enemy post. Or if you get shot you have to go to a med station. One thing I always wanted but never found was a game where you can control the gore settings. Meaning you can have no blood, call of duty blood, or something called "War" setting, where when a mortar goes off near a guy you see his leg blown off and bleed to death, or you see the guts come out like in Saving Private Ryan. This is all my dream call of duty game. I think graphics would be fine just as call of duty 2. The sound would have to be surperb meaning swearing, blood squirts, crickets at night, maybe the occasional singing or tlaking in a foxhole. The most important thing is you can choose if you are going to stick your gun out like a boner, or if you can keep the gun against your side or cradle it in your arms when you are sleeping. How does all that sound.
It sounds good, there has to be a balance between realism and fun though. Like choosing where to position your gun sounds a bit weird. Dismemberment definitely needed in the CoD series, also visible body damage (bulletholes and that) as in CS Source. The reason they probably haven't done it so far is given that they need to market the game to a lucrative teenage audience which they can't afford to lose. Push the game up into the "Mature" rating and you've suddenly lost a whole consumer demographic. (Not saying they won't play it anyway, most will, but that's not the way consumer relations looks at things :smokin:.)
Just a few little touches I thought of: When you are firing a mounted MG42 or .30 cal you should actually have a finite ammo supply and see an ammunition belt in the side of the gun like in other games, also you'd see the spent cartridges flying out on the other side. And while you're firing occasionally a teammate would come up next to you and and help out by feeding the ammo belt just like in the movies. Should give the game just a little bit more of a cinematic edge. :)
sounds good the 3 things i want though the most is
throw enemy grenades back A knife Gore
