Hey guys, Just trying to start a thread
I recently played Cod: Big Red One at a friends house for the gamecube. It was a pretty good game but overall I didn't like it that much because of the gameplay. It reminded me off the original Cod game. If you have played it what did you think of it?
I played it and it was fun and exciting like every CoD game is, but it did look a lot like the first one, although gameplay on the controler was definately bringing some twists into -- some good, some bad. All in all, I had a good time with it.
I'm looking to get it... Just not sure, can you get it for PC or is it consoles only?
I think Big Red One showed one thing. It showed the last limits of what the PS2 can do.
I think the graphics are remarkable (for what the GameCube can do), and I liked the gameplay allot. Sometimes the difficulty got really unbalenced (the only downfall), like one time, on the last level, there are 3 watch towers overlooking a maze of cement obstacles and barbed wire, each with an mg42 and a sniper on top. The first ten times I tried it, I would shoot all six tower people, and then run like hell while covering myself with a thomson, but by the time I got halfway through the maze, some german troops started to run at me with MP44's ablaze, and I got hit a few times, so i ducked behined a cement obstacle for cover. This worked for about twenty secconds untill the towers got their gunners respawned. So after trying the civilized way, I got tired of it and just ran like shit, and the guard towers must have had booze, because the gunners couldn't hit me, and the infantry on the ground just ignored me, and once I got through, i still had 3/4 my health left! anywho, I liked it becuase there are allot more guns than in cod2 and allot more varrying level types (you are not always tank hunting, or taking out 88's, or storming a hill), as well you can wak around a B17 while going from gun pod to bomb sight to gunpod. the only downfalls are the difficulty and the fact that you can only be american. I would Highly reccomend it to anyone with a crappy computer, or a big fan of ww2 shooters
