I won a "game of your choice" somewhere but I don't know what to choose yet.

I was thinking about COD2 (for the multiplayer) so how is it? Is it the same spray and pray fest as COD1? 'Cause I hated that. No vehicles I know that. Tell me something more about the multiplayer, how does it play?

The maps are too small on MP, so that results people just running around blasting their SMGs in your face. It's quite fast, but very very small maps, maybe it's okay with fewer people, but with 25-38 people it sucks...

Firstly, the maps are about the same size as they were in COD1

Secondly, there are maps for all types of player - if you're into rifles, you'll love the new ones: they have DOUBLE the damage SMGs are on about 40 -45%, rifles on 90 - 95%. Some players are saying they are too powerful. personally i think they are just right.

There are not as many cheats as people say there are, mostly if your a good player, you'll get called a cheat anyhow. But it is easier to kill, so I suppose sometimes it looks like you're cheating.

2 things wrong with COD2 in my opinion: too much smoke being used by the kids; too much nade spamming going on. This was a problem with COD1, now its out of control with the new way of throwing them.

Also, not really classed as 'something wrong' with the game, but the graphics settings reallly need to be tweaked to get the right performance. I've been playing for over 5 weeks now, and i've only just got it right.

ok -- at first i didnt really like it because it didnt resemble CoD1 or UO at all... then i made myself play it--- a big part of winning is knowing these maps like your backyard--- then youll know where the enemy is- or is going to be... thats why the nade spam is soooo bad-- even worse is the late nade spam--somebody ducks for a minute to escape the spam- then comes out when its all over and gives his three granades a lob- and usually kills a couple!! good tactic... alot of the servers i play on limit the grenades to one each--good thinking! i really didnt like the way some of the new gun sounds were-- the mp40--mp44-- and the thompson all sound really weird-- you get used to it i guess... all and all i think it grew on me real fast-- once you start winning and killing a couple people you know how it goes-- you get kinda excited and want to play more and more! one big giant gripe is the shotgun--- theres nothing like putting a grip of work in on s/d to get to the objective---kill three of the enemy--feeling real good about it--- turn one corner and theres a camping nub with a shotgun--no skill -- no aim -- no respect-- its over and your waiting for the next round!! man it makes me want to scream!! but alas its just a game!! i refer to my buddys favorite saying " youll have that" and i calm down a little great game though-- highly recommended...

Actually, some of the maps are quite large. I was playing on railyard earlier with some freinds whilst practicing Mosin Nugget shooting and we were shooting between houses. Thinking back now, the map was pretty large. Also, Beltot and Dawnville seem quite large to me.

There are, however, a few extremely small maps which, for me, ruin the game, to an S&D extent at least. To name a few, we have Leningrad (Lenny as I call it), Burgundy and Moscow. (Which is debatable... But I think that as soon as you walk out of the house, the streets are pretty confined)

And then we come to the medium size maps. Carentan is one that springs to mind for me. A reasonably large map, which is confined to street fighting at close and medium ranges.

There are a few different tastes - sizes of maps, and you should be OK with the game. With the release (Well... We're in the hoping stages right now as the effect of the CCA strike seems to be apparent: None-existant) of map making tools and a way to modify .iwd files, we should see a huge load of maps coming out.

All in all I'd say the game is good for all ranges. It's much more fun if you're voice chatting with freinds whilst playing which is what I do and makes all maps (Except for Lenny) entertaining and fun.

COD2 multiplayer put me off online gaming. Since my experience a month or so ago, I have avoided all online games.:( Being banned from two servers took the wind out of my sails so much that just the thought of playing online makes me sick.

I was banned for cheating and have NEVER cheated at anything since I was 10 and that was a board game. And if that weren't enough, one server banned me for having a score of 5-0 and there were other people there who were discussing their aimbots who were not banned or booted:(

I started playing AOE online many moons ago, and clocked tens of thousands of hours playing COD(UO) online after the PB patch. If an anti-cheat is ever released I "might" try it again.

Please try DOD:S! Us dod players are not like that!.I think dod is the best WW2 fps shooter there is! I have cought myself playing five or more hours in one server. Its fun, and looks just as good if not better then cod2.If you can play dods i really think you will like it alot!
