Dear CoD2 Community, i have been tracking the number of releases of user made content for CoD2 on codfiles.com for sometime. Unfortunatley my worst fears are coming true...short of people redoing others work (i.e. more soundpacks or skins of the same thing) we have come to the limits of what we can do without tools. This isn't a b*tching session about how we need a patch i have just found myself becoming more and more depressed as after seeing a post christmas peek in user created content the number of releases dies away daily. I really hope the patch is top notch but i worry by the time it is released there will be no one left to mod for it :(.... Ne way now i have gotten that off my chest i'm off to work on something for a rival game (not forever)

Well its because They are taking their time making that SDK, or giving us a patch..

CMON Activision, give us a map editor or something, make your community better!!!

The only company i know that helps out the community is EA games, and VALVE...

Cmon activision... get your fans a lovin

thx 5th raptor: off topic but the jap/german skins are all but done if only i could find the face skin files for the thin germans and bald fat guys (i've found the bald fat guy but when i edit it it doesnt show up in game). Anyway back on topic i think the reason i dont think activision are to blame it is IW who are the devs and likewise EA are publishers also it is the devs like DICE who make patches...and yes both valve and epic are great at looking after their gamers and as i have said before both realise the advantages in encouraging mods to nurture the future of gaming....but please if you do any kind of modding for CoD2 keep releasing to keep peoples interest up!

We all play these types of games on the pc partly because the ever changing maps and mods that can be done with them. I feel like the mapping tools should have been part of the game and ready when it was released. If we could not mod the game we would find another that we could do so soon after we played it for awhile but the mods keep it alive and encourage us to reserve the next release. I feel like we have all got ripped because it was said that we would get the tools really soon after the game released but here we are nearly in March and nothing has happened.

Totally agree Juniors, Look what gearbox did with Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood it came with the SDK aswell !!!!! plus they have set up a seperate wiki site for all tutorials and information to be posted by modders and the dev team, come on Activision sort it out, I thought CoD2 was going to be a massive game, I completed it on Veteran in half a day.!!!!! either a patch or an expansion pack needs to come out, I don't mind waiting if they could maybe tell us some content - SDK etc, then we'll be able to start putting som eideas together.
