Hey Tally, or anyone else for that matter. Could you tell me how to use your bot mod. I follow all of the instructions, but no bots ever join the game:bawl:

the released mod only works with COD2 1.0, as it doesn't have the 1.2 gametype files.

However, I can do a 1.2 version for you if you like? Tell me if you want it, and I'l do one and post a download for it.

I am using the 1.1 Intel Patch, because I don't play mp (56k), I just wanted to play mp style, because doing the missions over and over gets very repatative. My guess is that it has the same bot configs as the 1.2 patch, because it didn't come out too long after, so give it it a try if you could. thanks

Im confused. This is a MP bot mod - not SP. If you dont play MP, there is no point using it. It will not work in SP.

Even if you use it on a Listern Server, the bots have no AI. I pointed this out explictly several times in the 'readme.txt'.

My mod came out before the patch, not after it.

I dont know what you mean by the "same bot configs as the 1.2 patch".

yes I know it is for mp, but I can use it when I am not connected to the internet right? It should just add bots to the server that I make and then I can play an mp game with bots and no other people. Don't the bots move and shoot? If you said you could make one for the 1.2 patch it could probably work the same way with the 1.1 patch, is what i was trying to say. If the 1.1 patch doesn't have the same properties for the bot mod as the 1.0, then why would they bother to change it for the 1.2 patch. Jees I wish the makers of the game would just make a new patch with full ai mp bots eh?

the current mod doesnt work with the patch 1.2 because the files it uses have been updated in the patch. That is what I said in my first post

if i redid it for 1.2 the bot would be just as stupid. COd bots are test clients - that is there technical name

i fixed tally's bot mod for testing my maps on a 1.3 server - works fine for me :) (4 a quick&dirty howto see below) but i would like to give them some sort of AI or at least let them do whatever they do for a longer time before doing the next

i.e.: walk, use, shoot (pull trigger), reload, walk, use...

i would love to see them walk in some direction for - say - 10 seconds - then shoot or do something else. i'm not all new to scripting - so - if there is a handler where i must look that would help a lot. ------------------------------------- btw: i included the content of the _teams.gsc into my [somemapname].gsc renamed the init() procedure to initbots() and then i call it at the end of the main() procedure.

AND i changed the addTestClients() :

for( ; ; ) { //if(getCvarInt("scr_testclients") > 0) if(9 > 0) (what does for( ; ; ) mean/do? for nothing while nothing increment nothing by nothing?) AND a few lines further down

//testclients = getCvarInt("scr_testclients"); testclients = 8;

(gives you always 8 bots)anyway - it seems i must set the cvar when starting the game - after that ALL maps come along with bots :-D
