I'm trying to start a server from my home pc but I'm having problems. Boot up the game, click on "start new server" click "dedicated" / internet Then I get a cream screen with information scrolling up the screen, a bit like starting MOHAA. The whole thing stops with "sending heart beat to activision" this repeats over and over. :uhoh: What gives? How can I get it started? What about map rotation? There is no mention of it in any of the menu's. Do I need a script of some sort? Thanks for any help you can give.

Nothing wrong with what your doing and the screen you see coming up is normal (console). Do the same again and when you see the 'sending heart beat' message start up call of duty again with your usuall game shortcut and see if your server is online. More than likely you will have to setup your routers firewall to allow traffic but you never know it might work. As for map rotation you need a .cfg file to execute that has all the server settings in that you want. To execute a .cfg file the best way is on server startup with a dedicated shortcut and not via the ingame 'start new server' option. I gotta shoot out to work now but ill check this thread laters and see how your getting on, if no one has posted anything ill send you a .cfg file to edit and help you with the better method of creating a dedicated server shortcut.

Hi, thanks for the info. I now have a server shortcut to my game which leads to my cfg file. Shame Activision couldn't sort the map rotation problem for us, after all it's been 2 years. Anyhow pritty much sorted exept for the rotation commands. Thanks for your help. :)
