Ok, the long awaited COD2 tools are out on File Front:
The question is though is wether or not the tools are any good.
OMG!! YES!!....But I have to wait 3-4 more hours to get them cause im at school :( I hope they are good :P
they are good, if a little confusing first time you open them.
There is COD2 Radiant, an Assests Manager, plugins for Maya 6 (and upwards), A Complie Tool, Effects Editor, and full documentation.
Make sure you have MS .Net installed, as the tools use it as a foundation. If you dont have .Net installed, the tools will crash.
Darn, I have to get Maya now. Oh well, im always wanting every game tool in existance anyways.
yeah....does ne one know if there is a tool that lets you convert 3dmax7 files to maya? also ne one got a decent tutorial for the editor im good with source and i used to do quake 3 maps but that was ages ago i remember very little...
apparantly (i just did a bit of research) you can export the file from Max into an .obj file and you can then import the .obj file in maya. and if you look on www.modsonline.com there is some pretty good tutorials on the CoD1 editor and hardly anything has changed (the only thing I have noticed which is quite different is the way you choose the skybox texture)
thx warty ur the man! and answer your damn emails will you! lol
not to bump an older thread-- but are there any tutorials or any type of instructions on how to use this stuff?? it all loaded fine-- and looks like some decent software-- and id like to get to know it-- but flying blind on a peice of software like that really is kinda hard... none of the help buttons have any type of "HELP" to speak of...
