I have been a fairly good sniper in games like CS:S and others, but I'm pretty bad in COD2. Any good snipers have any tips, like do you aim in front of the person running to what? I try to do this and I still miss. Do you always hold your breath, or only when you have a clear shot and know some1 is there? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :naughty:

dunno, you just keep doing it and you'll get used to it. there's no hitbox in this game like in CS so you just aim the body. its best if you had a fhew wars, just to get to know when the enemy can get to key spots so you can steady the sniper before it by holding breath. mostly i never hold my breath for more than 2 beats, its easyer to steady it up again

If you get used to holding your breath every time you right click/look through the scope...it becomes natural for you to hold shift every time you right click!

Trust me!...I even try it on CS:S sometimes  it's annoying :p

Try holding shift, always aim at the body - try to anticipate where the enemy is going and wait for the shot ;)

Try watching the film 'Saving Private Ryan', it'll inspire you :p

This is a small step-by-step instruction manual on what I do to snipe both in Singleplayer and Multiplayer

Step 1-Find a good spot that is high and far away from major combat, but make sure your spot has a clear view of the enemy.

Step 2- Go prone if possible. It will make your rifle steadier therefore making the "shot heard round the battlefield" (as I like to call it) easier.

Step 3- if your enemy is standing still, TAKE THE SHOT!!!! Don't wait or your target may move away.

Step 4- If the target is moving, aim slightly, but not too far, ahead of the target so he will run into your shot. This is called "leading your targets".

Step 5- If you are playing on a server where Killcam is enabled, take your shot and move on. You don't want to give away your position. Note: This trick also works on servers with killcam disabled.

Those are my Tips for Sniping Success. Hope they help you. Have fun :)

Thanks guys. I've noticed a large improvment, and I'm feeling good now that I'm well rounded and can play with any gun given to me. Thanks again for all your help! :D

The best trick I use is as follows: At the start of a game, look through your scope. Put a tiny bit of blue tack on the exact plae the bullet goes. Then when using the rifle, when someone is on (under?) the blue dot, tap aim, breath and then a fractio os a second later, shoot. You dont need to be looking through the scope all the time, it lowers you battlefield awareness. Once you get used to it, the scope view will just appear as a flicker. Uber accurate normal rifle with a scope if needed. This also helps make the scoped rifles a better panic weapon.
