Hi,for some reason in the graphics settings I can only enable normal or low for model and water detail. My PC specs are in my sig, and the game runs beautifully, smooth and good looking. But want to know why I cant put these on high.

Anyone know a way to get them enabled? And why I cant enable them?

Cheers

-Will

Mine only go to "high" and "very High" is grayed out, which doesn't make any sense considering my specs are : Asus M2N32 Sli Deluxe MB AMD Dual core 6000+ cpu Nvidia 8800 Ultra 650 mb vid card "the black box" 1000 watt power supply and 4 gigs of corsair RAM... Seems "very high" shouldn't be grayed out but it is...

Theres a tweak to the config file for this. Shoot I searched but couldnt find it, I'm working now so I'm in a hurry. Maybe someone can find and post them here. In the option menu you can only select "model quality" to "LOW" or "MEDIUM", you can change it manually from CFG file to setup it to VERYLOW or HIGHEST.

Hmm, I know normally where to look for CFG files but I cant find any/it in the Program Files/Activision/Call of Duty 4 anywhere. Know where to look?

Got this from another board, UAYOR, I have not tested myself: BONUS: How to set up your game to HIGHEST QUALITY: In the option menu you can only select "model quality" to "LOW" or "MEDIUM", you can change it manually from CFG file to setup it to VERY LOW or HIGHEST, but remember, when you enter to graphics options the name of the tweak will be missing, example: NORMAL GAME OPTION: Model Quality: MEDIUM TWEAKED GAME OPTION: Model Quality: MISSING These are the commands to use: (VERY LOW) seta r_lodbiasrigid "0"//Level of detail of static _object's (-1000=better to 0=lowest) seta r_lodbiasskinned "0"//Level of detail of skinned _object's (-1000=better to 0=lowest) seta r_lodscalerigid "4"//Level of detail of static _object's (1=best to 4=worst) seta r_lodscaleskinned "4"//Level of detail of skinned _object's (1=best to 4=worst) (HIGHEST) seta r_lodbiasrigid "-1000"//Level of detail of static _object's (-1000=better to 0=lowest) seta r_lodbiasskinned "-1000"//Level of detail of skinned _object's (-1000=better to 0=lowest) seta r_lodscalerigid "1"//Level of detail of static _object's (1=best to 4=worst) seta r_lodscaleskinned "1"//Level of detail of skinned _object's (1=best to 4=worst) BONUS 2: _frame rate Boost of each setting Here is the _frame_rateBoost of each setting. Here are only the more important, 1 or less were ignored. Console Settings: seta r_lodscalerigid "1" VS seta r_lodscalerigid "4" 9% seta r_lodbiasrigid "-1000" VS seta r_lodbiasrigid "0" 27% In game settings: Model Detail "NORMAL" VS Model Detail "LOW" 13% Shadows Enabled VS Shadows Disabled 18% Dynamic Lights "Normal" VS Dynamic Lights "OFF" 5% Smoke Smoothing "ON" VS Smoke Smoothing "OFF" 12% Please note, although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

Seems to have improved a little bit. Not a massive improvement but it is better.

No such thing as a 8800 ultra 650mb. 4 gigs you cant utilize unless you're in Vista, in which you will get a 15-20% FPS decrease. Go with Intel core 2 Duo, or Quad, 15%+ increase in FPS, etc.

Anyways, for everyone its put to "medium" even if you have a super computer, or shit computer.
