So, i've been thinking about purchasing the PC version of this game. Would anyone recommend it? Is it as good as Call of Duty 2? Is it similar to Call of Duty 2? What are the hardware requirements like?

I think it had a whole lot of improvements when compared to Call of Duty 2. There are A LOT of customability options for weapons and abilities that your character can have (perks). The game pretty much feels like CoD2 with the fast gameplay style - the only real difference would probably be the addition of the ability to sprint. I myself still enjoy playing CoD2 fairly often, but CoD4 is definately worth it.

Yes, major improvements.

*Modern - This is a major and a huge step forward. *Customization - Customize Your Weapon *Perk - Special perks that you can pick. These perks benefit you while you play against other players. *I think this is the best Call of Duty yet because they took a huge step forward.

Just make sure that your computer can handle it because it requires decent specifications. I can't play the game at the moment because I don't play computer games, and I would have to purchase a new video card if I decided to play.

Can You RUN It? I would suggest going here to check if your computer can handle it or not.

Brilliant, thanks alot, and it does sound alot better. What about the community? Please tell me there are no 9 year olds that shout down teamspeak or hackers? EDIT: I also have appeared to do well on the 'Can you RUN it' website. Maybe a purchase is in order :]

Well, it depends what server you go to. I personally never use Teamspeak when I play, instead I just type. I only use Teamspeak if I am in a clan or play with friends that I know.

Unfortunately some people think it's 'funny' to crash TS and yes it still happens. Cheaters ? yes there are cheaters, Thing is to know what servers to play on so you can avoid them ;)

I've actually never come across a hacker while playing (I'm sure they're around, though). I've seen a whole lot more hackers on CoD2 than CoD4.

Really? Doh, oh well, I guess finding a good server is a priority then. Also, about the ranking system, is it similar to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions? Do you have to login and gain ranks as such? It is nice to playing for something once in a while.
