Can anybody tell me why you have to buys Hundreds of dollars worth of upgrades for your PC for it to run games smoothly, when you can spend $150 and buy and X-Box and the graphics are the same or better? And it runs 100 times better! I got COD UO the expansion pack, i have a 2.6GIG celeron, 760MB RAM, 128MB Nvidia 5200Fx graphics card PCI slot..no AGP in this PC, When you play on single player its so laggy it just makes me so mad i only play it for like 2 minutes then i shutter down. I even experimented by setting all the graphic settings to low and it still runs like crap. Do you have to spend $3000 on a PC for it to play games smoothly? When they design these games do they think everyone has the fastest PC in the world or what? It runs pretty good on Multiplayer, but if im on a big map outdoors it laggs up too, but if im in a building it runs great unless there is a huge battle outside:confused: Is there something im doing wrong..I know the video card isnt the greatest one but still you shouldnt have to buy a $400 video card to play games..imO that is MAJOR BS! PLease gimmie some feedback fellas..TY

its not your video card cause i can play COD fine with a Geforce MX 4000 64MB and mine is PCI to...... your computer should run fine with 2.6GHZ proccessor an 760 ram (i only have a 1.6 and 504 ram and COD runs with just some lag.) dont waste anymore money on upgrading your pc (unless you want to) but something is wrong.... have you tried reinstalling it? because that is very strange.....

Well, Celeron's are supposed to be Naff with games, so that would be my answer. However, I knew a guy who wanted to upgreade his machine and he had a celeron and he claimed it played CoD great. unfortunately it did the opposite for Joint Ops. Re-Install, and also Update your Drivers for your videocard. Maybe its summut to do with PCI, maybe its a feature on CoD that your graphics card dosent support [Check out the perfromance section and turn some stuff off and see if it runs better]. But this is indeed quite strange. ???

It plays great on my athlon xp3000+, geforce fx5200 128mb, 512mb RAM PC, and quite well on my 1.8ghz, geforce mx400 64mb, 256mb Ram PC. So it's not the game, it's just you:)

IMO it's likely a problem with your harware config. In order to get the most out of your PCI video card you need to find out which IRQ it runs on and up the priority to that IRQ. The PCI bus is slower than AGP so this is almost mandatory if you want to run anything with intensive graphics. Check out some of the optimization FAQ's over at www.tweaktown.com and you should be able to scare a few of those gremlins out of your system and get things running smoother.

I run CoD at full detail 1024x768 on the following old clunker:

P4 1.6 Ghz 512Mb PC133 256K L2 Creative SB Live! Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 256Mb @AGP4x

You should have enough system to run it reasonably well... good luck.

Hahaha, that's a good one. I needed a good laugh today. My 3200+. 512mb ram, and 9700pro run the game pretty good. I do however turn some of the graphics back in M/P just for more smoothness in heavy battle. I really think more RAM would benefit me though. Before the game starts I have around 380mb ram free. When the game starts it drops down to around 9mb.

There are a few things that come to mind. Fistly, a Celeron processor is not good for gaming, regardless of it's speed in mhz. Secondly, you do not have an AGP port on your MB, which considerably restricts the bandwidth you are getting for video. If you want 3D games to run smooth, you need at least a 4X AGP video card and MB. There is so much data traveling through a video card in these games that PCI video just can;t keep up, regardless of the video card.
