I came up with the idea that it would be really fun if the soldier was given medals for acts of valor during gameplay. While all the levels are pretty linear there is still room to decide how to attack a group of enemys and many of the ways entail peeking around corners and poppin head shots. I think it would be great if the game rewarded you for taking the initiative and kickin some serious ass. I though of this after an instance in burnville when the NPCs were involved in a fruitless firefight with Krauts protected by a wall so I tossed a grenade over and charged the position with the Thompson. I took out seven Krauts by myself and the last one with a melee attack as my gun was empty. I was pretty pleased with myself as I normally get shot to shreds when trying that heroic stuff. If a game was to recognize that selfless act in the face of danger I would be really pleased. Hell, maybe an NPC could say something to me. This may sound stupid but I think any game would benefit from such an idea. CoD is great because it keeps the one man army shit to a minimum but a reward when something cool is pulled off would be great.
That sounds like a good idea, but it might demote the teamwork on some gametypes (Seek and Destroy). People would just be going around like a one man army so they would get a medal, instead of destroying the objective. :nodding: Good idea though!

Sounds a little like single player Medal of Honor. While the concept is good, it would just promote competition among "team mates". Unfortunatly CoD just doesn't allow for good teamwork. It is still more like an FFA FPS.
I had considered this idea mainly for the single player game as I know if would be no fun on multiplayer. Also, I had MoH for Ps1 and remember how you were rewarded after each succesful mission with a medal regardless of your tactics. I want to see a tactic based reward system. Hell, throw in demotions for acting like an idiot and risking others in the squad. Thanx for the input.
