Hi there, I would like to know from those of you who can know out of code, experience or info-releases what the best ways are to attack a tank. For example: should you put your nose into the line of fire or is it better to show your flank (if it matters)? Does range have anything to do with it (I think so)? What about the big ones? If you have any valueable information for me please enlighten me, because you all know how great it feels to win in combat from a tank, on foot or tanko-a-tanko, to take on another fight and to live another day. I will be comming back for answers, greetz :cya: {GRAVE}GOA_PANTERA

The best way to deal with a tank is to use panzers or simular and shoot at the back of the tanks (even on the big tanks) but aim for the fuel tank, one shot most of the time kills the tank. Even works on the russian tanks, even though the fuel tanks are on the side for some unknown reason.

That definatly is interesting, sometimes I've found that it sometimes even takes 2 shots with a panzerfaust to kill off a tank. I'll try it out :D

The tanks are also weak on the top so if ya ever get a chance to shoot down onto a tank aim at the turret or slitely to the back. One of the good maps to do this is from the church on foy, wait for the tank to come through the town and get it when it passes under you.

Tanks, naturaly have armour weakest on the back and weaker still on the top. Best way to kill a tank is to wait for it to come to you and use AT weapons like the Bazooka and Panzersreck and fire directly at it's engine block or the space between it's hull and turret. Aiming at the turret top also works well. Tank Vs. Tank isnt such a good idea in Call of Duty, seeing as most of the tanks in the game are infantry support tanks, and not tank hunters. It's also too risky to go tank hunting with tanks because you're exposed to infantry fire in dense areas like Foy and Cassino.

If you have BF1942, download FH. It will teach you a thing or two about tank hunting.

Thanx a lot for the answers so far dudes, let me see if I can get this right so I can be more efficient at blowing up tanks  : - shoot at the back of a tank (works also on the bigger tanks) - shoot at the turret - shoot at the fuel tank (can you see where that is, side or back, or do you have to know a thing or two from tank-mechanics) - shoot at the top - shoot at the hull (I don't know what that is) - use panzers rather than tanks (althought that depends on the situation) That made me think a bit further  - can these weak spots be found in the programming-code or the aimbox or something like that? (you know what i'm trying to say) (yeah, I quess so) - is there a difference in power between the different rpg's/fausts/bazooka's? - is the flak more powerfull than a tankblast? - is the satchel a "one shot kill-weopon" or does that too depends on the place of impact? - are the tracks weak spots too, they are in reality? Just things I wondered so if you have some more help for me feel free to submit a reply. I will be using this info in my future games. PS: I don't have bf1942 but I will most likely get bf2.

- I wouldn't have a clue where to find info as far as code goes - I believe that all of the "rpg's" cause the same amount of damage - If by "flak" you mean the 88mm cannon, yeah, it does more damage - Satchel damage depends upon location of detonation too - The tracks can't be independently damaged FYI, tank on tank is great if you can manage to flank someone and hit them from behind. If you are in enemy territory, you can sometimes hop into a tank and look straight ahead (so your turret movement doesn't give you away) and just wait for a tank to come rolling by and then blast him from behind. Of course you've then given your position away and you will soon be right in the middle of several enemy tanks. If you want to get really good with tanks, get on a dedicated Foy server and you will learn quick.
