The garand and M1 Carbine both have ghost ring type sights, but they aren't done properly, decreasing the ease-of-use of those weapons. The Garand is the most problematic rifle right now and hardly lives up to the reputation of 'the rifle that won the war'. This is because the rear peep sight is solid instead of blurred making the weapon un-flexible. You have to actually LOWER your rifle to get a visual, then raise it back once you've spotted an enemy, wasting time in the process. I shouldn't have to mention that it's an excercise in luck trying to "lead" a moving target when there's a big circle nearly blocking your view entirely! A good example of properly done ghost ring sights is Operation Flashpoint through the M16A2. The rear sight is considerably blurred and is easy to aim through. This is not the case with CoD, that's why the 98K with it's easy to use sights is a fairly popular choice. SMG's are used by 50%-60% of the squad because they don't even require the use of sights the majority of the time; big advantage there. That's what I'd like to see changed in 1.04.

I think what he means is that it should be semi-transparent. In other words, you should be able to see it, but see "through" it as well. Think of kind of like a watermark........I hope I described that right.....

Hey no problem man. Now here's a screenshot from OFP and maybe it's not the best example, but you get the idea. flash_screen001.jpg

In other words, in real life the ring would be so close that it would be out of focus, meaning you would be able to see around it somewhat. I'm not sure that this can be done in CoD, because aiming down the sight, graphics-wise, only moves the gun model. It can't blur it. Maybe it could fade to a partially transparent gun model, but that would require higher specs and a good bit of recoding.

Hmmm... I hope it's not as hard as you make it sound. I really feel this should be addressed. the Garand in particular is quite crippled by this, so is the MP44.

I belive the garand sights arent too hard to aim out of, compared to the mp 44.

With the garand u have to know when to use the sights. I use the sights when Im just out of medium range. other than then I just use cross airs. PS remember noobs the garand is'nt a spray cannon, resort to spray neaver and treat it like the lee enfield or the k 98.

Right but as standard I only go to servers with no crosshair, so sights are even more important in that case. Take that into consideration. I agree with the STG44 being more difficult to see through.

The Garand can be a "spray cannon" when used correctly, especially with ist fast reload speed.
