I have been playing COD for about two months. I never used to lag one bit. About two weeks ago I started lagging considerably and "connection interrupted" kept popping up and it would last for around 30 seconds and then subside. Then it would happen again around a minute or two later, and so on through the entire game. My ping would usually be under 50 but it would always spike to 999. I scanned for spyware and adware and all the nonsense and there was none and i even went so far as to do a complete reboot of my system. I also made sure i had no internet programs running in the background. I closed aim, internet windows, and the like. still i have a horrible lag problem. I am using a cable connection that comes straight from the telephone pole. I have run tests on the internet that say i can play the fastest multiplayer games, but still i lag. if anyone knows why i am lagging and how i can fix it i would be much appreciative if you would inform me on how to remedy this problem. thank you

For a start you can only be as fast as the slwoest part of your connection - which may be the server you connect to. Some Server Admins have not the faintest idea what they are doing and allow 30 players on their server even though their bandwidth is good enough for only 8 players at the time.

Next you can do some cleaning up on your computer - run scandisk, empty out all the rubbish you don't need like tep files, then defrag, maybe run a comercial program to clean the memories, stop services you don't use, and disable all programs that are not needed before starting another session... See if that makes a difference, if not, come back with some specs of your machine...
