Saints and Soldiers Tora, Tora, Tora - A great movie (about 35-40 years old) that gives the Japanese point of view as well. Again, GREAT MOVIE!

solietjakeBand of Brothers, were indeed pretty damn accurate, at the screening of BoB in Normandy, France before it came to HBO, veterans of Easy Company were honored there and they also said they thought the series was pretty damn intense, accurate to what happened. *Has the DVD Tin Box Set with teh Special Features* oh and Saving Private Ryan, was accurate to what happened on Omaha, took a while longer to take Omaha thou in real life. When it came to german tactics in the movie, it was horrible.

I was actually watching the special features on my BoB disc and saw what they said about realism. pleased.gif And with Saving Private Ryan, the beach was much longer, and it had more than just tank obstacles there, also had several large traingle like cinder blocks and tank gates.

BOB and A Bridge too Far for me> And though they got the tanks all wrong Battle of the Buldge was good. Also Kelly's Heros is awesome.

Oh and about the beach. SPR isn't really too representitive of Omaha or Utah. Much of it was a shallow cure upward wether then a full blown cliff. Also there we're ALOT of beach obstacles. We're talking mines, Rommel's asparagus, the cement blocks you were talking about, hedgehogs, Belgian gates, barbedwire, the list goes on and on. That was really the main defense of Normandy. It probaly would have been better to just scratch the whole Atlantic wall and just mine the whole damn coastpleased.gif

My favourits are Saving private ryan, BoB, Enemy at the gates and Wintalkers (STFU WTF is wrong with it!) The worst war movie hast to be the thin red line, it was so friggin boring, worst cinematography ever, also in this movie it is guadalcanal and they are USMC so why do they have garands (me dont think marines had them at this time.)

Dude, grow up. Visit the melee, there is something dedicated to you in there. Yes Enemy of the gates has Stalingrad in it, and there is also a movie called 'Stalingrad' and is very well represented. We Were soldiers is a movie based around the 17th Air Calvary unit in the Vietnam war. It has Mel Gibson in it. pleased.gif
