I am trying to change an mp3 file inside a pk3 with pakscape. I have an mp3 that I want to use and I tried to delete the existing one and copy the new one in. It did not work when joing the server. It said that it had an invalid sound file. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to get this done. Thanks, Steve.

never edit original files. you will now have to reinstall the game.

if you ever want to mod a file, copy the original, then make the changes. then create a new pk3 file with the edited files in it.

You really shouldn't edit someone else's work. However if your changing a sound file, there is no need to now re-install your game. If it's a custom sound file, that was already included in the map file, and your just chaning that file, you also need to edit the .csv file located in the soundalias folder. Remember!!! Get the author's permission before you do this, other wise your just not a good person.. and second, you'll have to rename the map, including the .bsp / .gsc files or your get an invalid pk3 error.
