I'm making a cod map, it's getting bigger but it isn't that huge, it has alot of detailed houses, sheds and hotels and a nice underground, I'm not using any lights, just using worldspawn commands to light it, and i'm using the detailed brush thing as much as I can to reduce compile time, but it takes 6 hours to compile:| this can't be normal can it? is there anything else I can do to reduce this time? I have a reasonably good and fast computer too....any help would be appreciated. SYMP

Sounds like quite a good compile time to me...
I've compiled alot bigger maps for other games on a much slower computer, with real lights in the map, in just 3 hours...so I assumed 6 hours was too long, but you've been very helpful, now if you'll let me swop my sarcasm boots for pink fluffy ones with the Barbie logo printed on the side, i'll be on my way.
