i opened my map, and i tried to deselect a brush. but it was still red (a lighter shade though). so i thought: hey, it might be duplicate. and yes, it was. but then i checked some brushes around the one, and they were all duplicated! half my map is duplicated! anyone know what caused this, and how to get rid of this easily? (or else i will have to go through all the brushes to check if they are duplicated, and remove them... hate the foresight of that)
hmm im not shore wot could of caused this, but ive had this probly with a brush that ive used to cut or cut through:confused:
it is the problem with almost every brush (exept my newly build hanger), the rest is all duplicate. i tried to select a big chuck of my map, and then deselect and then hold my mousebutton, and then just race over my map to deselect all the dublicates. then i would just delete the other part to leave me only with one of the duplicates... but the problem is: when i forget to deselect a brush, it will be deleted completly, so i have to check my whole level again! argh... does anybody has a better solution? and does ANYBODY know what caused this??
i deleted all the duplicate brushes (man what a work), and now everything seems to be fixed. i had some problems with the lighting, and i had a invisble spot in my map (see an earlier post). it is all gone. the map probably loaded twice, and so all the brushes got duplicated. a guy told me not to use the recently opened list for opening your map, because that way it could happen that you load everything twice. Also: i think it is wise to check if your map isn't duplicated every time you load you map, so you never have my problem, especially when you have a huge map...
Ye just make shore u always got a backup:D
