Does anyone know if there is a way to change the default sight color of white to something else. I am having a real hard time seeing them in certain maps..Thanks

What do you mean by "sight color"? You mean the uniforms? I know it's hard to see the white uniforms on the Hurtgen map, is that what you mean? If so, there's no way to do that without having modded files (and maybe a modded server); besides, punkbuster would probably complain anyway.

If you want to try changing some the cvars that affect colors/brightness/etc, take a look here:

Thanks for the reply Glanzer..I am talking about your gun sights. When you point a MS gun at something you see the 4 little white marks out there that you use to aim. I can't hardly see the white marks. I was hoping there was a way to change them to red or something easier to pickup.

AH, I understand now! I don't think there is a way to change them to another color without downloading a mod though. But there is a way to change them to solid white. By default, when you are standing still they SHOULD be solid white, but maybe for some reason they aren't for you.

To change them to solid white, you will need to change a cvar setting. To do this, you pull down the console in the game (via the "~" key) and enter the following:

/set cg_crosshairAlpha "1"

Then close your console by pressing "~" again and test it. If that helps, then you should make the change permanent by entering in the console:

/seta cg_crosshairAlpha "1"

The "seta" command makes the change permanent.

If you want to know more about other cvars and their values, take a look here:

Thanks again..I will try that. They are white but they are very fine markings and I loose them in light backgrounds such as snow, sky, etc. Do you know of any mods that would give colored sights on all servers or are most mods server specific. The other problem is that I have downloaded a few different mods and none of them seem to work. I download them to the "main" folder as instructed but I see nothing happening. Should any mods that you download show up in the mod section of the game screen. I have nothing there. Thanks again for your help. I will keep looking...

Do the mod files end with .pk3? If they are zipped up (ending with .zip) then you need to unzip them cuz they have to end with .pk3 in order to be recognized by CoD.
