I seem to have narrowed down my problem with the missing 17 wav files, my pak2.pk3 file seems to be dodgy on the disk. So could somebody (with broadband as it's 162k) very kindly e-mail me a copy of theirs please to rule this out? my e-mai is ishouldntaskforprograms@tumteetum.com And Iwould VERY much appreciate this. :) Thanks for you time.
MMM Pak2.pk3 = 161676KB = 157MB Not many people would be able to email you that
holy mother of f**k , so it is. B*gger!!!
reinstall doesn't work!
looked on the activision website and they say to copy the pak files off of disk 2 and they all copy accross with the exception of pak2. I get this error:
Cannot copy pak2: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
Feck feck feck!!!
you still want someone to e-mail you the pak?
if you don't mind that would be excellent, I take it you'd do it over night?
I assume ntl will allow a file that size.
If not I'll have to buy another copy.
Clean your CD, then try copying that file directly from the CD instead of trying another install.
that's what I'm doing Glanzer. that's when it comes up with the error.
If cleaning the cd doesnt work, get in contact with Activision and explain you problem to them and they could send you a replacement cd if you've bought the game :D, most likely they'll ask you send the whole game to them and they'll send out a replacement to you. But if you havent had the game that long, just take the game back to the shop within 30 days and ask them if you can have it replaced, as some shops will do that. But I say get in contact with Activision :D
I've contacted Activison and got an excellent reply. It does appear to be the disk that's buggered, I've brought it to work and it doesn't work here either. It's only that one bl00dy file though.
