Whenever I start COD it shows the movies and the title screen background isn't there and i cannot start a single player game. When i switch to multiplayer i cannot start a multiplayer game either. I contacted Activision and they ignored my question can any one help?
Can you do a screen shot of what your seeing or not seeing, then we can help further. Plus I would suggest you check the console for any error messages, this is done by pressing ` (next to number 1 but under ESC keys). First I can think of is that you may have some corrupt files on your hard drive.
Email has been sent, recommending reinstallation and checking the file sizes of the pak3 files.
It installs fine but wont let me just place files from cd but thank you because i think i got a defective cd
That what I said you need to check the cd in another drive as it could be that your cd / dvd drive could be dirty. Its happened a few times when people think they've got a faulty cd and its turned out to be the cd / dvd drive.
Try changing to an older driver file for your video card. When I installed COD for the first time, it would play the opening movie, but freeze up. I had loaded the latest NVIDA drivers, and decided to install the two year old original driver for the card. That worked. The latest and greatest video drivers don't always work right.
Oh I found the problem pak4.pk3 is corrupted on the actual cd and i have no way of replacing it, can someone send it to me?
Sorry the file is over 159MB in size, all you need to do is take the game back to where you bought it but if its out of date just contact Activision and tell them you bought the game but the cd is corrupt they will ask you to send the game back to them and they should be able to send out a replacement game.
