Can anyone tell me how to change the in-game refresh rate for CoDUO? Is there a command I can type in or another way? I like to have vsync on when I play but I noticed that my fps will only go up to 60. I would like to change my refresh rate to 85. Any ideas anyone? thanks

60 is optimal FPS. But... on slower computers fps will often go down and playing will not be comfortable. I don t think there is a possibilty to change refresh rate without changing your desktop refresh rate. CoD 2 supports in-game changing, but UO doesnt. So if you have a good monitor, LCD for example, change your desktop refresh rate. But your resolution should not be too high for that refresh rate. What kinda monitor do you use?

I have a 19" CRT monitor and I run it at 1024*768 100hz. My video card is a 6800 GT so obviously I could be running at higher fps.

So I don t understand why do you want to lower your refresh rate?

to turn FPS up you MUST release VSync as this 'groups' your FPS with the refresh rate of your monitor. So, if your monitor only supports 85 MHz then your FPS will be locked into that rate.

Releasing (turning off) VSync (Sync Every Frame > 'No') will enalbe you to get a 'faster' FPS but remmeber it cannot theoretically be much faster than your monitor. the command to do this in console is:

/set coms_maxfps 333

This will give you unlimited FPS, but will be capped by the ultimate rate your monitor will refresh - currently about 125.

I realize that you can raise your fps but turning off v sync, BUT when I have vsync on my fps is locked at 60 so theoretically wouldn't my refresh rate would be 60hz? But on my desktop my refresh rate is 100hz. So my question is why is it only at 60? Shouldn't I be able to change my in-game refresh rate to something higher (than 60) so my fps won't be locked at 60.

And I would respond to kafadi but apparently he's been banned.... obviously he wasn't understanding my question.

With VSync enabled the game caps your fps to the default FPS - which will be the same as your monitor. If you arent getting 100 FPS make sure your graphics cards settings arent limiting the rate of refresh, which will be the read-out in the game.

I would strongly advise you to release VSync - it will hamper your frame rate, and slow you down.

As for Kadafi, he is unfortuantely a prize cock, and he has been caught out before under various alias's (like Lt Mitchell) before doing stupid things. Good riddens to him.

Well at least you understand my question. I checked my settings and it doesn't seem to be limiting my refresh rate. It kinda sucks you can't change the refresh rate, oh well...thanks for the help though.
