Ok I have a problem with my COD single player mode. When ever I try to play the single player campaign, it gives me an Error message, "please insert the correct CD Rom". Ok now I know I have been inserting the correct one this whole time so don't worry. I tried installing the Gotty patch and followed the directions but it still doesn't work. Now a new error message pops up with the console, " This Version of microsoft windows does not support COD". Ok I have windows XP and this is a brand new CPU. So can anyone help me I would really like to play the signle player campaign. P.S. I can play the Multiplayer part of COD just fine but Single Player just won't work...:uhm:

Ok, first and vital question - is this a purchased copy with a legitimate CD key?

We do not support warez of any shape or description, neither do we condone talking about 'nocd' patches on these forums.

Right, this is how to run it. Start the game in safe mode (Start > Programes > Call of Duty > Play in Safe Mode). Now start up sp, and when it asks for the CD, pop it in your ROM Drive. Once its going, just config up to optimum config, and quit the game.

Next time you go to start it again in standard mode, when you put the CD in again it wont refuse it any more.

Maybe your cd's just scratched in which case you cant do anything. mulitplayer doesnt need the cd so thats why you can still play that.

It is prolly something which is running in Windows which is screwing up the installation.

Activsion suggest that if running in safe mode for the game doesnt work, to run Windows in safe mode (boot up, before Windows starts to load, press F8 or DELETE to go into safe mode). This stops unnessary programs and drivers loading. Then try to run the installation from there.
