Hi all again does any one know the answear to this

I have some friends that are brothers they both play cod online one of there comps has died so they are sharing the same comp to play at the moment, i was wandering if there was a way they can toggle between their own config_mp.cfg as they use seperate controls. they have made seperate configs but they have to leave the game to swap between the two config files is there a way they can toggle between the two files via the console

Yes this can be done, what they need to do is:

One go on the pc put their controls in and then exit the game, now go to the folder where Call of Duty is installed then go to the Main folder where config_mp.cfg is located. Now copy the file and rename the copied file to user1.cfg.

Now the 2nd person gets on the game and puts their controls in and then exits the game. Go back to the Main folder and copy the config_mp.cfg file but rename it as user2.cfg.

Now in user1.cfg open it up in a program like wordpad and scroll down the list of binds and then type in a line:

bind 0 exec user2.cfg

and save the file. Now open user2.cfg and put the same bind it but change the user2.cfg to user1.cfg, so it should look like:

bind 0 exec user1.cfg

Now run the game CoD and when you get the multiplayer menu bring down the console with the ` key (next to 1 and below Esc keys) and type in the following:

/bind 0 exec user1.cfg /bind 9 exec user2.cfg

Now when you run the game from now on you should hit either 0 or 9 and it will now change the controls to the user that comes on. If the controls are wrong for when user1 comes on press 0 and it should change the controls for user1 and vice versa for user2.

There is a cfg file which is called a vstr string. This will toggle names by the touch of a single key.

Post here the names you want and i'll write it for you and post back. You can then just copy it and use it.

In

User1.cfg open the file up and look for the line:

seta name

now for user1.cfg type in the name that uses those keys

then in user2.cfg do the same thing but this time put in the user2's name.

so it should look like:

user1.cfg (when opened the line shold look like) seta name "user1" user2.cfg (when opened the line shold look like) seta name "user2"

just replace user1 in the seta name with what the users want.
