I have an English language CoD: GotY, pathced to v1.5. Is there a way to enable a foreign spoken language from another localization (for example from the Russian version of the game)? I have the "localized_russian_pak0.pk3" etc. files. Thanks!

Unforteunately not. The pk3 files in any Quake-engine based game all contain 'directory file-handles' which refer to each other, that is, to the many other pk3 files in the game. Changing the 'localized version' of the game would shaft (as we say here in the UK) the running of the game.

Tally, thanks for your reply. Looks like I was able to figure this out after all. What I was trying to accomplish was to replace the Russian sound files in the game (I dont know how you find the accents in the British campaign, but those are some of the most *horrible* Russian accents I've ever heard). The solution was to open the "localized_english_pak0.pk3" and "localized_english_pak1.pk3" archives as well as their Russian counterparts ("localized_russian_pak0.pk3" and "localized_russian_pak1.pk3") and manually copy over the Russian campaign sound files from the Russian localization to the US one. One thing to be careful of, though, is that file locations within the *.pk3 archives differ between the localizations, so you can't "bulk-copy" the files over, you need to go directory by directory. Hope this helps any othes who are trying to do the same thing! - Strelok
