It might be your ram. You should consider upgrading it anyway, 512 isn't much.

An Nvidia GeForce4 certianly isn't high end, but it should be able to turn out decent FPS in Call of Duty, here are some recomendations to improve your FPS:

Go to the options menu, and then the preformance tab, and turn off "sync every frame." Also in the preformance tab, turn all settings down once, and in the graphics tab, turn down the resolution to 800x600, that should help some. And about the 512MB of RAM. That is more than enough to get you through Call of Duty, now if you were to perhaps play HL2, that would be a different story....

I think you got my reply, but I got one question for you-is your other computer using a CRT monitor?

Sounds to me like you need to tweak your fps. Find the config_mp.cfg file in your COD 'Main' folder. Open it with Worpad and find 'seta coms_maxfps'. Find out what it's set to. Is it the default "60"? Try changing it to 333. Now go to the game, and Options > Performance > Sync Every Frame > set it to 'No'. See if that helps.

Monitor change??? Fat lot of good thats would do to increase fps. What did you think? that the monitor holds back your fps? Rubbish.

Well you've said you changed your monitor - but you've said nothing about if you changed the settings I advise you to change. Did you change them? Do a screen shot for me showing your fps.
