I have Rcon4Cod but I cant get it to control my clan's server. Can anyone help? I have the rcon password, and I enter it in the box designed for it. I enter my server's IP addy and connect. But I get no control to rotate maps, kick players etc. Could someone do a walk through configuration for me please?

Rcon4Cod Version 1.4 5 Oct 2004

1, place Server IP, port number and rcon password and click connect

2, once this is done you can do the commands that are located in the program depending on the server ie CoD or UO.

Headings:

Server: This gives you the info on what the server info is Password - Protects the server from people joining (clan match protection - private wars) what the rest of the heads are what they do lol

CoD modes:

gives you the options of changing the CoD modes and the different settings that you want for those modes.

Maps:

This is where you can either manually change the maps to what you want by selecting the populate from server which will give you a list of what the server has. Plus this is where you can select to have rotate the map to the next map in the rotation cycle, or even restart a map.

Weapons:

This is where you can select which weapons you want the server to allow.

Players:

This is where you can get the status of the server of players, so you can either kick, ban or send a message to them private.

Messages:

This part you can set up a rotation of different messages that will be displayed on the players screen ie: Welcome to our server, Please play fair, Enjoy yourself, any recruiting will result in a kick or even a ban.

UO Modes:

This is same as modes but with the UO modes in ie base assault, domination and capture the flag.

UO Misc:

UO weapon select as UO has even more weapons than CoD ie tanks, dropping health and field health.

If you want to know anymore just post a reply.

thnx m8. However, I entered my IP, port and rcon password. I try to rotate map by either clicking 'common tasks' - 'next map in cycle' or populating map list from server list and clicking 'load selected map' but nothing happens.

Further, if I'm playing and someone is abusing one of the server rules, I select his name, then click 'kick selected' but again nothing happens.

The password is correct as it was mailed to all clan members - myself included (1st Ghost Squad rocks!!!!). So, without asking how longer serving clan members are using Rcon4Cod, Im stumped. Any further help or suggestions will be welcomed.

right try this: put the IP address and port number with rcon and click connect at the bottom of the big left hand status window theres a status button click it and if it tells you what the status of the server is then it means that the connection is working. If nothing happens it means theres either something wont with the connection or the program is stll trying to access the server. Best way to test this out is to get into the server you have rcon access with and bring down the console with the ~ key and then type in the following: /rcon password status <----- password is the rcon password you were given. when you hit return it should give you the status of the server ie players including you. This will then mean that the rcon access is working and theres something wrong with the rcon access from the rcon4cod. BTW what version have you got of rcon4cod?

If you've set up a server it will be in the servers config file, if it isnt in that file it will be the default port: 28960 If your connecting to a server ie your the admin of a server or your clans giving you the access to a server to control it will be the last 5 numbers of your clans IP addy: 45.234.654.34:27901 - The port would then be 27901
