I wondered if anyone can help to get my demo recorder to work properly.
I dont have any probs recording - just in getting the fast forward, pause, etc to work during playback. I know its probably to do with the timescale. I havent turned it off yet. How do u do that? I typed /seta timescale 0 but it tells me its cheat protected (which, of course, I already know).
Now, heres my set up:
I dropped the recorder.cfg and the autoexec_mp files in my main cod folder.
I manually exec recorder, and the toggle key bind 'u' turns the recorder on and off.
I run the demo through console by typing /demo 'filename' - where 'filename' = the demo's name.
But when i go to fast forward, or pause the default number pad keys do jack.
Whats going wrong? Please help.
well as far as I know, you cant fast forward or rewind in cod or uo.
If your wanting to do these sort of things is if you get a seperate piece of software that will play demo files, something like: http://www.planetquake3.net/seismovision/
I have a seperate prog called, interestingly enough, 'demo recorder'. This is a standard cfg file download from CODfiels.com and Fileplanet. It comes with an autoexec_mp file.
It binds number pad keys to control fast forward; fast fast forward; pause, and normal speed.
But thnx for the utility anyway. Ill give it a try.
Right, went to download page u directed me to for Seismovision. Probs with COD, as it alters the pk.3 files to .bk file. Advised NOT to download until issues have been resolved.
So it looks like im back to square one.
Im farily convinced its the issue about timescale being cheat protected. So anyone know how to disable the cheat protection?
Have you got PunkBuster enabled or disabled??
But I've sorted the problem thnx. I did download Seismovision after all because i found a patch which fixed it. However, the keys to control playback still didnt work (the developers are aware of this).
But i found that if i use the recorder.cfg file i downloaded before in conjuction with Seismovision, then I could get fastforward, pause etc. This is because Seismovision disables the timescale protection.
So u load the demo file u want to playback using Seismovision, but use the recorder.cfg binds to control it. Excellent!!!! :D :D
ok but for the ones who want to know, what I can work out Cheat protection is PunkBuster. When you want to use a program and it says disable cheat protection just go to the multiplayer options and click on the punkbuster and set to No.
cannot seem to get this to work for draw2d though..still trying to get rid of spectator message and using seta cg_draw2d "0" still returns draw2d is cheat protected... pb then turned on or off makes no difference.
