Yep I remember ya :D http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=167934 http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=168491 Right by what I've read on your message I guess you've tried the uninstallation trick? Have you asked the person who fixed your pc how they fixed it? Edit: Try this:

The most annoying thing in the world! Whenever I would try and startup COD MP it would say "codmp.exe has encountered an erorr.." Finally, by looking around I was able to find a quick cure! Navigate to the directory where you installed COD and delete the file "servercache". This will delete all your favorite servers but its your only chance! Once you restart COD, it should work and the game will replace the file in the directory. Hopefully, Activision will adress this issue in 1.4 but for now, this is our fix. Hope this helps someone out there.

EDIT AGAIN lol: Try this:

I have a solution as ive had this problem but alot worse...no need for details tho...try this =

Answer

Add "+set cl_motd 0" to the command line for the multiplayer executable 1) Right-click on the Call of Duty multiplayer shortcut, select properties. 2) Edit the "Target" line to include "+set cl_motd 0". The target line should read:

"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set cl_motd 0

3) Click Apply, then OK.

Worked for me, goodluck

Try scanning the pc for viruses, I've read some people have found out that the codmp.exe had been infected and did the same problem, the best idea is to do a full uninstallation of the game :( as that has fixed the problems before. Other people have had the problem with this game because of their motherboard as it turns out some have what they call a NForce motherboard and that has caused a few problems too.
