Hi, I'm new to this board and I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but here goes. I downloaded a few maps today, dropped the pk3 files into the main folder, but I keep getting a pak sum/name mismatch error. What does this mean and how do I fix this error? Thanks, Rob.

hi, This probably caused from a bad map some where, that you have downloaded or what ever, if you know what maps or mods you put into your cod main folder that caused this error than delete them one by one till the error is gone., once you figure out which one caused it look for that map and download it again if the same error comes up then your question will be answered.......... although it will not tell you why it is comeing up but which one is causing it and how to avoid it.. hope that helps!!!:deal:

It means that the server you visited is using a different version of the particular map you have on your drive.

Take the map out of your hd temp. Then enable dls and go dl that version from that server.

This is an increasingly annoying thing now, there are about 3 or 4 different versions of the same map (I got about 5 versions of Another Town - but thats GFM for you!)
