what remote console are you using? Coz it sounds like its sending a message to kill server for some reason. might be corrupt.

puTTY is a FTP program that Linux server admins use to stop/start the server, and perform other functions with. I know this, coz my clan uses it on our linux servers. It is NOT an rcon program. It cannot send COD cvars. This is the same for xshell - it is a SSH, TELNET program. If your server is running, you do not need to use any SSH program unless you need to stop/start your server. So what admin procedures are you attempting to perform using them? Are you wanting to stop for maintenace, then start the server again? Only to have it crash when you exit the program? If it is stopping the server, then either the FTP details are incorrect (normally, the FTP IP is the same, but the directory root to the server files is different), or you aren't using the correct protocol to exit the SSH program. What exactly are u doing when you log out of puTTY? Tell me the key strokes, and I'll see if they should be crashing the server or not.

wont work for controlling a Linux remote server m8. It's as it says on the box - for COD, not for Linux servers (and remember that when we talk about server it isn't necessarily a games server). sorry for that.
