I have recently installed and started using a router. All has been great apart from one tiny little detail, it takes ages to get off the "Loading Call of Duty" screen! ive read previous posts about maybe corruptyed files in call of duty main folder or something...i have 1024mb ram...im running windows xp proffesional..um i have lots of free space on my computer but i just duno what the problem is. thanx for any replies here i am very grateful for advice. thanx. p.s i have tried re-installing the game! - Cpt.DeadAim{I} - Call of Duty

Sound more like the router is the problem possibly the the wrong port.

Didn't it come with a manual, if not, you might want to go to the manufactures website for support, they should be able to help you. I don't you a router, but I know from other people certain ports need to use for certain things.

Hey, same thing happens to me. Long story.... I just wait. It's less than 60 seconds to start the game even with that long load.

I've contacted Activision support and even some of the programmers about this problem and they haven't given out the info of what its trying to do at startup..... So I'm gonna put a packet sniffer on that sucker sometime....

You find the answer in my reply to the post "help damn router" as i had the same problem until i fixed the DNS as described in the post

lol, find the answer in that thread?? I had a look, and all you said was you found the answer somewhere but cant remember where, but it was something to do with the changing of the DNS and the TCP/IP settings. People who dont know about changing these settings should becareful if they dont know what they are doing, as this may screw up your connection. Tav if you can could you please find the link to where you found the answer and post it for the guys to help them out, if you can. Cheers Highroyds
