I test and found the problem. Thanks to rodimus to point out it was Punkbuster.

So the real problem is Catalyst 4.10 + Server running Punkbuster = freeze.

I played on a non PB server with 4.10 and i was playing without problems then went on a PB server with 4.10 and it frooze after 5 minutes. So i uninstall the 4.10 and put 4.9 and everything works fine now. Can play and no freakin freeze up.

For those who really wanna play here's a link to get the Catalyst 4.9 http://www.gamershell.com/news/17130.html

Youknow what this mean??!! It means you and me outsmart Activision tech guys :naughty:

This is with what they say in tech support: "Make sure you have the latest video and sound card drivers from the manufacturers' websites."

Thats the point you idiots...the driver is causing this!!! Why do they always try to blame previous drivers...Tech Support my ass :0wned:

A mod should move this as a Sticky for a while

lol dude...Activisison been saying that for about 3 weeks!! They say update to the lastest driver because its just that ...a later driver, lol. 4.10 came out way before UO was released, so get the 4.8 or 4.9, hence a later driver. The 4.10 was shit and not meant for the more demanding 9.0c driven games like the engine in UO. Also Ive told so many players to upgrade their drivers frm 4.10 and get the 4.8 CAT. It rocks. Glad its sorted anyway. Well done all.

I felt I should point out that 4.10 is the latest version of drivers, i.e. newer than 4.8 and 4.9. It was released on 14th October 2004. The number after the '.' has increased from 6 to 7 to 8 to 9 to 10 etc. It's not the same as 4.1, which is what I think you're confusing it with. It sounds like there must be a problem with the latest drivers because I am having the same problem, as described in the posts above, since I upgraded from 4.8. I'm going to try a non punk buster server until new drivers are released (4.11)!

Froze on me again last night but was able to recover it after about 15 minutes. Will be seeing if it will do it again. I still think it's punkbuster and not just the drivers. Seems to only happen in a PB server. Will post soon.

RIGHT. This is Someone eleses post on other forum. ________________________________________________________________________ By: 7hor _______________________________________________________________________ If you are experiencing crashes after the latest Xfire update in Call of Duty and/or Call of Duty: United Offensive it is because of ATI Tool. Their is a update for ATI Tool (version 0.0.22) which FIXES the Call of Duty crashing problem. These are the steps you need to take: 1. CLOSE XFIRE 2. Go to Start>All Programs>ATI Tool>Uninstall 3. When uninstalling, it will ask you if you want to keep your settings, choose NO. (Take note of your settings/profiles if needed) 4. After uninstalling, go to: techpowerup.***/atitool/ and download ATI Tool Version 0.0.22. 5. Restart your computer 6. After you restart, open up ATI Tool and set it up to your preference. 7. Open Xfire and you can now follow people and play! ______________________________________________________________________ I dont know if it works not had the chance to try it yet!
