I'm not a modder, but I found this forum by google. I have a problem: I visited a server that downloaded me a new main menu background, and the background just stayed. I re-installed the game twice ands still the background stays there, it won't go away, I don't understand how that can be. It's very annoying, all the text is now in german and with ugly colors. It's for some clan I guess.

So then: how can I get my lovely main menu back to normal?

Also, when I click Join Server (except it's in german), the background there is for some clan too. And when I click Quit, the Yes and No buttons have some clan's name before them, so it's PTFFS YES and PTFFS NO. So those things are annoying too. If anyone could help it would be appreciated, this has been going on for a week now and no help from anyone.

go to your Call of Duty 2 folder, main folder and delete the mod, mods names usually start with zzz, zz, zzzzz ...

No use. I checked the folder again, and there is nothing that would appear to be a mod. Are are things called "iw" from 00 to 15 and "localized_english" 00 to 11. Also folder called players but nothing significant there either. I have re-installed the game twice, no use, so it's impossible there would be anything in the Call of Duty folder. I have searched for any other folder that could be associated with the game but the search function doesn't give any. The only thing that exists is in C/Program Files/Activision/Call of Duty 2

I use Vista, maybe that might be important. Of course, Vista shouldn't even allow anything to be downloaded to Program Files, I've had that problem with another game. But I can't find a folder from anywhere, I especially checked Documents folder. And how should the game be able to pick another folder for downloads on it's own. I've been thinking the mods aren't even on my computer, but are maybe on some internet server. I just don't even understand how this even works, people keep saying the mods are in the Cod2 folder but there's nothing there. And if there is, re-installing should take care of it.

Re-install? I had this with Cod1, where servers installed all their crap in my menu and stuff.

Check your Call of Duty 2 folder, you should find 4 folders there only:

Docs, main, miles and (ifyou play v1.3) pb.

Delete the others, probably mods.

I'm not quite sure of that... :/

Backup savegames and files first then.

I found a solution by installing the game at another place than Program Files. Hurray! This time the mods also show up so I can delete them manually if needed! I'm still confused why it didn't work in Program Files, but at least it works now. There were really only four folders and none of the folders contained mods.

Anyway, thanks to people who showed interest!
