yeah well heres my question is there any way to add distance sounds for weapons?( a different sound for long distances see examples) also I have a looping sound for the ppsh but when I tryed to put it in the game I couldnt hear it:mad: (at all). any hints and or comments r seriously appreciated Ive attached examples such as the looping ppsh41 sound and the luger normal and distance sound(hopefully it worked)

it wouldnt be easy to have distance sounds for a weapon. You would need to run a script on each player to get their position in relation to other players, and then apply that info on self, and then play the sound from that selfPlay() function. Otherwise the game wouldnt know when to play the distance sound, and when not.

As for the loping ppsh sound, did you rename the wav file to the one thats used by the ppsh?

There are in fact 2 sounds for each weapon in COD2 - self sound and level sound. The ppsh for example has an MP3 file called weap_ppsh_fire_plr, which not surprisingly is played on the player (fireSoundPlayer).

Then there is the level sound, which is when you hear other player's weapons. The ppsh has an MP3 called weap_ppsh_fire which is a level (map) sound, and is run on the map as fireSound

Copy your .wav file, and rename one to weap_ppsh_fire_plr and the other to weap_ppsh_fire. Place these in a nested folder structure - sound\weapons\ppsh
