In the past ive used milkshape but is there a better modeling program?

the industry is going over to Maya more and more. The new COD2 tools have plugin support for Maya, as it was used in creating COD2.

A full copy of Maya will set you back about $2,500, but you can get the Learning Edition from the makers Alias. this is a free, fully working edition, which is meant to introduce you to Maya, with the only previso being that you dont use it for commerical use.

i have 3dmax 7....i guess i could re learn with maya :S...sigh another book to read and another 2 weeks to a month to learn it!

is ther a way to get 3dsmax models into game. because, in the MAya Learining edition, u acnt save without a huge watermark going across it :S

no way at the present. The importer/exporter only works with Maya 6.

People are working on a plugin that will allow 3DMax, LightRay, Milkshape, and just about any other 'mel' based 3D program to work.

so i pretty much cant import good models that dont have a blur unless i et that huge program??

and its not just having Maya - you have to have Maya 6. I have Maya 7, and that doesnt work either, so Im stuffed as well.
